Today as we share the message Humanity: The Family System of the Species, we turn toward the human race. A newborn enters the world searching for connection before it understands words. The first universe is relational. Human beings evolved through bonding, signaling, cooperating, protecting, remembering, teaching, storytelling, ritual, and shared meaning. We are an emotional species as much as an intelligent one, shaped by ancient survival patterns and by the systems that surround us. Bowen’s Theory of Self-Differentiation gives us a way to understand this human task. It asks how we might remain connected without losing ourselves, how we might stay present under pressure, how we might speak from values rather than reactivity, and how we might live in relationship without being swallowed by anxiety. This Sunday invites us to see humanity itself as a vast family system under pressure, carrying the weight of climate disruption, political polarization, migration, racial injustice, religious trauma, loneliness, technological change, and inherited fear. It asks whether our next stage of evolution may require emotional maturity as much as scientific brilliance.
Let’s gather and journey together this Sunday, we will see you at 11:00 am live in the sanctuary or Livestream on our YouTube Channel
