Our fifth principle is: The Goal of World Community. Our circle does not stop at the edge of this room, or this city, or this country. This Sunday, we lift our eyes to the whole human family and the old dream of a world at peace, with liberty and justice reaching all the way out. It is an enormous hope. We hold it anyway.

We are excited to see you on this Sixth Sunday of our Summer series — An exploration of our principles and the heart of our faith. Join us at 11:00 am live in the sanctuary or Livestream on our YouTube Channel

UU theologian Rev. Dr. Rebecca Parker writes: “As valuable as it is, it is not enough for us to teach people to build their own theology. To enter into Unitarian Universalism is to enter a theological house that has already been built.”

We continue this Sunday sessions exploring our Unitarian Universalist theological house and how it informs our theologies both personally and as a faith tradition. Please meet us in the Emerson room at 10:00 am, Sundays in August.

Our Conscious Aging Community is a very caring supportive community, where we feel safe to share about how we really are, about our feelings and our thoughts, and our present ongoing experiences.

We are presently reading and sharing about the book A Year to Live by Stephen Levine, which is inspiring us to live as consciously as possible, to investigate and deal with our fear of death and, and among many other things, to find our essential wisdom and joy.

We meet in the Emerson Room, the first Wednesday of each month from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. Feel free to bring a snack or lunch.

Our fifth principle is: The Right of Conscience and the Democratic Process. Conscience is the quiet voice that refuses to be voted down. This Sunday, we explore the principle that ties our spiritual life to our common life, the right to follow conscience, and the duty to build a democracy where every voice counts. Our ancestors helped imagine that democracy. We are still responsible for it.

All are welcome to join our Social Justice Community meeting, today August 2 at 12:45 pm. Come share your voice and your ideas! UUMiami’s Social Justice Community is currently working on immigration concerns, voices for reproductive rights, the tragedy in Israel, Palestine and Gaza, and Climate Justice. Through our Share the Plate initiative, we support the Women’s Emergency Network, Safe Schools South Florida, PACT, and Chainless Change. By supporting local organizations, our hope is to uplift and educate our congregation while also taking action for all of Miami. Meeting takes place in the Emerson room.

Our fourth principle is: A FREE AND RESPONSIBLE SEARCH FOR TRUTH. No one here will hand you the answers and demand you swallow them. Our faith trusts you to search, freely and responsibly, for what is true and what your one life means. This Sunday, we honor the search itself as something sacred.

Don’t miss this fourth Sunday of our Summer series — An exploration of our principles and the heart of our faith. We will see you at 11:00 am live in the sanctuary or Livestream on our YouTube Channel

There are moments when the noise of the world settles into our bodies without us realizing it. An hour of stillness can become a quiet act of return, a way of remembering yourself beneath the pressure, beneath the pace.

UU Miami invites you to join us tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 pm for an evening of meditation in the Emerson Room. This is a simple, welcoming space to pause, breathe, and gently come back into alignment with yourself.

Whether you have an established practice or are stepping into meditation for the first time, you are invited just as you are. No expectations, no performance. Just presence, shared in community.

In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, choosing to be still can be its own kind of courage.
