"Nobody's free until everybody's free." - Fannie Lou Hamer

Pause and visualize the weight of this moment. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom delayed is still worth celebrating, freedom denied must never be forgotten, and freedom for one is tied to freedom for all.

On this Juneteenth, we remember, we celebrate, and we recommit ourselves to the ongoing work of justice, equality, and freedom for all.

Today we honor the resilience of those who endured, the courage of those who persevered, and the promise of a future where liberty and justice truly belong to everyone.

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Corinthians 3:17

Remembering the Emanuel 9

Today, we pause to remember the nine precious lives taken during a Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 17, 2015.

Rev. Clementa Pinckney, Rev. Depayne Middleton-Doctor, Rev. Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, Daniel Simmons Sr., Tywanza Sanders, Ethel Lance, Myra Thompson, Cynthia Hurd, and Susie Jackson.

Their lives were rooted in faith, service, and love for God's people. Even in the face of unimaginable tragedy, their legacy continues to remind us of the power of grace, forgiveness, and the unshakable strength of the Church.

Today, we honor their memory, celebrate their witness, and recommit ourselves to building beloved communities where love is stronger than hate.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." — Matthew 5:9

The Black History Behind Memorial Day

On May 1, 1865, thousands of newly freed Black Americans gathered at a former Confederate prison camp in Charleston, SC. They properly reburied 257 Union soldiers who had died in captivity, dedicating the site as “Martyrs of the Race Course.” Led by 3,000 Black schoolchildren carrying armfuls of flowers, this historic procession is recognized by historians as one of the very first Memorial Day celebrations—then called “Decoration Day.”

This weekend, we honor all who made the ultimate sacrifice, remembering the deep roots of liberation and love that started it all.

Still smiling from Resurrection Sunday 🌸🌷🌺💐🩷

What a beautiful time we had celebrating, laughing, and fellowshipping together as a church family.

So grateful for our YPD who gave Easter care kits to the caregivers in the church every item a reminder to keep going, keep smiling, and keep the faith.

The joy didn’t end Sunday ... we’re still walking in it 🙌🏾
