JOIN US IN PRAYER - THE INTERNATIONAL SEAFARER MINISTRY OF MIAMI IS PRAYING FOR THE SAFETY OF 20,000 SEAFARERS IN 800 CARGO SHIPS IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ

Today our hearts and prayers are with the approximately 20,000 seafarers aboard 800 cargo ships in and around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important and sensitive maritime passages.

Behind every cargo ship is not just cargo, trade, or global commerce. Behind every vessel are men and women—sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers—working far from home, often under dangerous and uncertain circumstances.

The International Seafarer Ministry of Miami invites all churches, ministry partners, friends, and people of goodwill to unite with us in prayer for the safety and protection of all seafarers, especially those currently navigating these dangerous and uncertain waters.

We pray for their safety, for wisdom among world leaders, for protection over every crew member, and for peace in the waters they must cross. We also pray for the naval and maritime personnel involved in helping restore safe passage, that their actions would preserve life and prevent further conflict.

May the Lord watch over the seafarers in the Strait of Hormuz. May He calm anxious hearts, protect every vessel, and bring them safely to port.

“Those who go down to the sea in ships… they saw the deeds of the Lord.” — Psalm 107:23–24

Seafarers are not forgotten. They matter to God, and they matter to us.

THANK YOU, CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH! [VIDEO]

What a special moment captured here as the wonderful church family of Christ the King Lutheran Church presents their generous Lenten Denial Offering in support of the work of the gospel among international seafarers at PortMiami.

Through your faithful giving, the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ continues to reach the nations—right here at the port—among crew members serving on both cruise and cargo ships. This moment is more than a gift; it is a testimony of Christ’s love, lived out through His Church.

As Scripture reminds us:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” — Romans 10:15

We are deeply grateful for your partnership, your hospitality, and your heart for missions. We love you, CTK family! May the Lord continue to use you for His glory among the nations.

JOYFUL SUNDAY!
Today our hearts rejoice as we reconnect with Alejandro—a dear crew member, cherished friend, and part of our family here at the International Seafarer Ministry of Miami. He comes from the beautiful country of Philippines, and it fills us with gratitude to know that he considers our place his home away from home.
Each seafarer carries a unique story—marked by sacrifice, love for family, and hard work! It is our calling and joy to receive them with the love of Christ, offering not only hospitality, but true fellowship and spiritual care.
As Scripture reminds us:
“I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” — Matthew 25:35
May the Lord continue to use this ministry as a place of rest, encouragement, and hope for all who walk through our doors.

Caring for the Nations, One Smile at a Time at PortMiami’s Seafarer Ministry - Thank you PortMiami. Thank you Caring for Miami.

This past Saturday, April 18, we witnessed something truly special at the International Seafarer Ministry of Miami.

In partnership with Caring for Miami, and PortMiami we hosted a Mobile Dental Clinic right here at PortMiami—providing completely free dental care to seafarers from multiple cruise ships. These men and women, who spend months at sea serving millions around the world, were able to receive cleanings, fillings, and compassionate care at no cost.

Many came with physical needs—but left with something more: renewed smiles, encouragement, and a reminder that they are not forgotten.

We are deeply grateful to the incredible team at Caring for Miami, including Pastor Chuck, Dr. Judy Mejido, Mrs. Damaris, and all volunteers, each one serving with excellence, compassion, and Christ-centered love.

What took place that day reached far beyond Miami. The seafarers we served come from every nation, culture, and background, and they will carry this testimony of love back to their ships—and ultimately to their families across the globe. In a very real sense, together we were not just caring for Miami… we were caring for the nations, we are doing missions!

We were also encouraged to see some of our “Church at Sea” members—Christian fellowships we support, crew who gather aboard ships late at night for prayer and Bible study—receive care that strengthened both their bodies and their ministry.

It was a long and warm day, but one filled with joy, gratitude, and eternal purpose.

As Scripture reminds us in Matthew 25:40:
"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

To our partners at Caring for Miami and PortMiami—thank you for helping us serve those who often live unseen. We look forward to continuing this mission together.
