We thank God for we were blessed by a dear soul last week with a financial gift that enabled us to buy some 20 plastic chairs and flowers to adorn the room in which we gather every week. Praise the Lord.

Resident within the fallen nature of man is an antipathy (intense dislike) towards spiritual disciplines. This is why our Christian life can not depend on our feelings. To grow in spirit, we must consistently decide to be disciplined to pray, to bible study, to evangelism, to love the brethren, to teach or preach, to give, etc. If we are waiting to feel good about spiritual disciplines, there will never be spiritual growth and productivity in our lives. Timothy was urged by Paul his mentor to spiritually "train" or "exercise" (gumnazo - practice as in a gymnasium) himself for the purpose of godliness in 1Tim.4:7. Spiritual discipline is truly the key spiritual growth and productivity.

If you live in Arua City and are seriously interested, Join us for our weekly Home Bible Study on Spiritual Growth in Euwata.

The false teaching that believers can "bind" or "loose" demons at will is not taught anywhere by Jesus Christ or any of the New Testament writers. This erroneous teaching was develop from the misinterpretation of Matt.16:19; 18:18 which have absolutely nothing to do with demons. Though the practice is prevalent in some quarters today, interestingly, there is not a single bible verse to support this strange practise. Only God has the power to bind i.e. limit the freedom and capabilities of Satan and his minions (cf. Job 1, 2 ; Matt.12:29; Rev.9:14; 20:2). The power the church has been given by Jesus Christ is the ability to cast out demons (Mr.16:17) not bind them.

Apostles Today?

Wayne Grudem: "The words apostle can be used in a broad or narrow sense. In a broad sense, it just means "messenger" or "pioneer missionary." But in a narrow sense, the most common sense in the New Testament, it refers to a specific office, "apostle of Jesus Christ." These apostles had the unique authority to found and govern the early church, and they could speak and write words of God. Many of their written words became the New Testament Scriptures." (Systematic Theology, 911)

Also, notice how the entry for "apostolos" in the Greek lexicon BDAG distinguishes between "messenger without extraordinary status" and "messenger with extraordinary status." The latter is a messenger of God in a prophetic way. As Waldron puts it, the question must always be asked, "An apostle of whom?" The reason for that is that an apostle is a legal representative of the sender. Christ's Apostles represented Christ in a way that demonstrated delegated miraculous and prophetic powers. In contrast, if a local church sends an apostle, he is a mere missionary. That's where the difference lies. And no, there are no more Apostles of Christ in the church today (Eph. 2:20). I also think using the word apostle for modern missionaries or church representatives is unwise. It creates confusion because the term is usually associated with individuals such as Paul and Peter.

Today we begin our Teaching Series about the Church. The Church is the most important divine institution in the world today. Without it, an individual will never know a personal God, discover their God-given identity, divine purpose and significance in life.

So, Join us for our Worship Service every Sunday (10AM-12Noon) at Palm Tree Nursery and Primary School located in Arua City, Onzivu Parish, opposite Oil Energy Petrol Station.

Our mission is simply to make disciples of Jesus Christ through the faithful proclamation of the gospel of the Grace of God(Act.20:24) contained in the Word of His Grace (Act.20:32).

This divine commission undergirds every activity that we do.

We are hopeful that God will establish;

1. A spiritually health local assembly

2. An effective Bible School to train and equip our ministers to love our Lord Jesus Christ and serve His Church

3. A Bible School Dormitory to house disciples under ministerial training.

4. An Orphanage to reach orphans in this part of the country for Christ

5. A Church School to primarily disciple enrolled orphans through Christian Education.

6. A recreational facility to reach youth for Christ.

The Complex Maze of False Teaching

When an individual is not knowledgeable about Bible doctrine, after being warned about one false teacher, they will always run into the hands of another false teacher. So, an individual with a continual lack of Bible doctrine will always be helplessly confined in complex maze of false doctrine.
