1 Samuel 30:8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
The songwriter wrote it best, "Give it to God. Man that's all I know." What is the first thing you do when you experience loss? Do say things like: God, do you hear my cries? God, do you understand what I am feeling? Do you get frustrated, angry, and confused? It's important for us to examine our emotions on how we act to react to situations when we've lost a loved one, jobs, divorce, homes, and opportunities.
The Bible says that after David had experienced great loss in 1 Samuel 30, David asked the LORD, "Should I go after the people who raided our town? When his enemies thought he was out of options, two things David did that are vital to every child of God. First, he worshipped God. Secondly, he prayed.
David did not insult God by asking why he was going through what he was going through. Rather he consulted God, asking how he was to get through what he was going through. We need to have the same disposition as David. We need to consult God in all our decisions. Our choices have consequences. Whether big or small, the decisions we make have positive or negative reverberations. Our decisions shape our destiny. 2026 STAY POSITIVE & BE CALM 🙏🏿
