Micah’s Idol (Judges 17–18)
Micah created his own version of worship with idols and a hired priest. The tribe of Dan stole it all and started a false religion. The Bible says, “Everyone did what was right in their own eyes.”
👉 Real worship isn’t about what feels right — it’s about obeying God.

🛑 When Good Intentions Go Wrong: Gideon’s Ephod

After God gave Gideon a mighty victory over the Midianites, the people offered to make him king. Gideon refused, saying, “The Lord will rule over you.” (Judges 8:23). But then he did something puzzling: he made a golden ephod—something like a religious garment or symbol—and placed it in his hometown.

At first glance, this may have looked like a way to honor God. But over time, the ephod became a trap: “All Israel prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his family.” (Judges 8:27)

⚠️ What’s the lesson?
Even when we have good intentions, stepping outside of God’s will can lead others—and ourselves—into trouble. Gideon won the battle but lost spiritual focus.

✅ Let’s remember:
True worship isn’t about golden symbols or past victories. It’s about ongoing obedience, humility, and keeping Jesus at the center.
