Rabbi/Cantor Rachelle Nelson does it again with her beloved Broadway to Bimah series! This time, channeling the legendary Ethel Merman and putting a Jewish spin on the classic “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” transforming it into “Shul Business.”

For more than 40 years in the rabbinate and cantorate, Rabbi/Cantor Nelson has brought her unique blend of music, humor, storytelling, and heart to Jewish life. In true Broadway to Bimah fashion, she masterfully weaves a cast of familiar congregational characters into a meaningful and entertaining Shabbat parody that leaves us laughing, singing, and reflecting all at once.

It’s a reminder that while there may be no business like show business, there is certainly no business like shul business when Rabbi/Cantor Nelson is at the helm!

Join us for another memorable Shabbat filled with warmth, community, music, and a little Broadway magic. 🎭✨✡️

Rabbi/Cantor Rachelle Nelson does it again!

Another brilliant installment of Broadway to Bimah has arrived, and this time Rabbi/Cantor Rachelle Nelson takes on “Send in the Clowns” with a loving—and hilariously accurate—tribute to one of synagogue life’s most familiar traditions: starting late.

With her trademark humor, creativity, and musical flair, Rachelle captures the rhythm we all know so well: the last-minute conversations in the lobby, the announcements before the announcements, and the hopeful belief that a 7:00 p.m. start time is merely a suggestion.

Filled with laughter, warmth, and just enough gentle truth, this latest parody reminds us that while we may not always begin on time, we always arrive together as community.

Broadway to Bimah presents: “Send in the Clowns”—or perhaps, “Send in the Congregants!” Because if we’re starting late anyway, we might as well have a little fun along the way. 🎭✨⏰❤️

As South Florida experiences days of rain and cloudy skies, Rabbi Rachelle Nelson reflects on this week’s Torah portion, Parashat B’halot’cha, where a cloud guided the Israelites through the wilderness—moving when it moved and resting when it rested.

Perhaps the lesson for us is the same: we don’t always need to know what lies ahead. We simply need the wisdom to recognize when it’s time to move forward and when it’s time to be still. Even in uncertain times, we are never alone. Together, with faith, patience, hope, and the support of our community, we continue the journey.

🌅✨ A Beautiful Havdalah Under the Stars ✨🌅

What a wonderful evening we shared together as we said farewell to Shabbat and welcomed a new week.

Our Havdalah gathering was filled with music, friendship, laughter, and community. We sang everything from beloved Israeli songs to favorites from the 1970s, creating a soundtrack that brought generations together. Everyone contributed delicious snacks, and the room was filled with warmth, conversation, and connection.

One of the greatest blessings of our growing Kehillah is the opportunity to spend time together beyond services—to learn about one another, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that make this community so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. I am already looking forward to our next gathering, perhaps with a different kind of mixer and some fun opportunities to help us get to know one another even better.

As the Havdalah candle’s light faded, the warmth of our community continued to shine brightly.

💙 Shavua Tov, everyone! 💙

Irit Aviv and her beloved King Charles Spaniel companion enjoyed a joyful Shabbat experience at Kehillah on the Beach of Cuban Hebrew Congregation

At Kehillah, we celebrate the warmth of community, friendship, and belonging. Sometimes that includes our cherished four-legged family members, who bring so much love and companionship into our lives. It was wonderful to see both humans and their furry loved ones sharing in the joy, music, and spirit of Shabbat together.

Shabbat is about connection—and everyone deserves a place where they feel welcome. ❤️🐾

🎭🍰 Rabbi- Cantor Rachelle Nelson does it again! 🍰🎭

In true Broadway to Bimah fashion, Cantor Rachelle Nelson takes on “Say You’ll Share with Me” from The Phantom of the Opera—with a hilarious and heartwarming twist celebrating one of our favorite Kehillah traditions: the Oneg!

Joining her is Greg Eisenson, delightfully channeling the Sarah Brightman role as the two lovingly poke fun at the incredible assortment of treats, desserts, and delights that bring us together after services each week.

Filled with laughter, music, friendship, and food, this parody is just a small taste of what happens every Friday night as we Reimagine Shabbat at Kehillah on the Beach.

Come for the service. Stay for the Oneg. Return for the community.

What an honor it was today to share this beautiful Shavuot and Yizkor service with Rabbi Cantor Rachelle Nelson and Baal Tefillah Marc Lamb. As the light poured through the stained glass windows, so did the warmth, spirit, and love of this beautiful congregation. In moments like these, surrounded by tradition, music, memory, and community, you truly feel the heart of our Kehillah shining brightly. ✨🕊️
