What an extraordinary evening Ruach of Pride: A Jewish Pride Celebration and Dinner turned out to be.

Our hearts are full as we reflect on a night of love, music, storytelling, laughter, tears, and the powerful warmth of community. After years without a gathering like this, we were reminded just how important these moments are—bringing people together, sharing our stories, honoring those who came before us, and celebrating the beautiful diversity of our LGBTQ+ Jewish family and allies.

The room was filled with connection, friendship, and an overwhelming sense of belonging. It felt like a reunion, a homecoming, and a celebration all at once.

We are so grateful to everyone who participated, performed, volunteered, attended, and helped bring this vision to life. Special thanks to our incredible partners at JCRC, Keshet, and especially Temple Beth Sholom, which opened its doors and heart to all of us in such a beautiful and welcoming way.

Together, we created something truly meaningful—an evening that reminded us why Ruach has always mattered and why these gatherings continue to be so important.

Thank you all for making Ruach of Pride such a remarkable success. We are already carrying the love and inspiration from this evening forward.

🌈 This is shaping up to be one of the most musical, meaningful, and profound Pride events of June.

The talent keeps rolling in, the energy keeps building, and what is emerging is far more than just a dinner or gathering — it is an evening of memory, pride, storytelling, spirituality, music, and community across generations.

We are incredibly grateful to welcome such an extraordinary group of voices and leaders, including Cantorial Soloist Karen Pincus, Rabbi Cantor Rachelle Nelson, Rabbi Jessica Jacobs, Gerard Ortega, Mickey Angel Estefan Jr., Noam Agami, Aurora Gadea, along with other beloved clergy and community leaders who will be joining us in the room for this powerful evening of connection and celebration.

As we reinvent and reboot this beautiful Pride tradition rooted in Temple Israel of Greater Miami’s historic Pride Seders, we also honor the memory of those who helped build this community with courage and love — including our beloved Ruth Shack z”l, whose spirit will absolutely be felt throughout the evening.

Please join us for what promises to be a memorable and moving night:

Ruth Shack was truly a force to be reckoned with.

A fearless Miami community leader, she spent her life uplifting others and standing up for human dignity — including sponsoring the 1977 Human Rights Ordinance that outlawed anti-gay discrimination. She was a longtime supporter and frequent guest at our Ruach of Pride Seders, and we were honored to welcome her at our last Pride event in 2019.

Ruth Shack died yesterday, May 23, 2026, at 94. May her memory be a blessing.

"Hope will never be silent."

Today we honor Harvey Milk, a trailblazer for our community who was taken far before his time. Harvey shattered closet doors wherever he went, rallying LGBTQ+ people everywhere to be proud, demand to be counted, and fight for our rights with love and resilience. Thank you for everything, Harvey.

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia is observed every year on May 17.

The date commemorates the World Health Organization’s decision on May 17, 1990, to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. Today, it is recognized globally as a day to raise awareness about discrimination, violence, and inequality faced by LGBTQ+ people.

🌈✨ “There can be miracles… when you believe.” ✨🌈

That lyric feels so deeply connected to what our Ruach of Pride Celebration is all about.

On June 4, we gather as a Jewish LGBTQ+ community — and as allies and friends — to celebrate the power of belonging, visibility, faith, music, love, and connection. In a world that can sometimes feel divided, evenings like this remind us what is possible when we come together in joy and community.

Who knows what miracles we can achieve when we believe in one another…
when we lift each other up…
when we create space for every soul to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

Join us for a beautiful evening of dinner, music, conversation, spirituality, and pride as we honor our shared stories and continue passing the mantle L’Dor V’Dor — from generation to generation.

Come be part of something meaningful, uplifting, and truly over the rainbow. 🌈💫 Ruach of Pride: A Jewish Pride Celebration and Dinner

Marc Lamb and I are so saddened to hear of the loss of our friend and fellow community member, Ali Turcios.
From dinners to Temple to the Pride Seder — Ali’s warmth and presence touched so many of us.
This is truly a loss for our entire community. May his memory be a blessing.
