All Souls' Episcopal/Anglican Church, Miami Beach

All Souls' Episcopal/Anglican Church, Miami Beach Join us each Sunday at 10:30 am for Holy Eucharist. In December 1941, The Rev. Adams at 18 Belle Isle on the Venetian Causeway between Downtown and the Beach.

We are a diverse community of faith, bound together by our love of God and our desire to share that love through sacramental worship, gracious hospitality, and spiritual formation. Joseph Mitchell Taylor and eight founding members met and agreed to proceed with the lease of the winter home of the late Dr. Joseph H. The house contained a large music room, enough to seat 300 people, and had a pipe o

rgan already installed. A sanctuary had been found and after installing an altar, lectern, pulpit and pews, the first service was held on February 28, 1943. So a new mission began with 450 people attending two services that day. In April a Sunday School was instituted, and at the Diocesan Convention in May 1943, All Souls’ was confirmed a parish in its own right. On April 11, 1951 ground was broken for the church at 4025 Pine Tree Drive, and on Christmas Eve the congregation held its first service in the partially completed Parish Hall. Three years later, on Christmas Eve 1954, the first service was held in the present church, which was finally completed in March 1955. In October 1958 the parish hosted the 59th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, and on Sunday, October 5, All Souls’ Episcopal Church was consecrated by Bishop Henry Loutitt to the glory of God, in the midst of great celebration and thanksgiving for the vision and courage of Fr. Taylor and the founding charter members. Searcher or seeker, our prayer for you is that you may find and be found by the God whom we worship and strive to serve humbly and faithfully, day by day and Sunday by Sunday. How ever you came by here, we would encourage you to join with us on Sundays in our walk with God and in an honest seeking for understanding of the mystery and wonder that is God, revealed to us in the person of Jesus Christ, who empowers us with the Holy Spirit, and who holds us in grace, mercy and love.

What are you truly seeking? Meaning, purpose, wisdom, a deeper understanding of life?

Philosophy invites us to listen to our deepest longings and wrestle with the emptiness we’re often afraid to admit we feel within us. The emptiness, or depression, or confusion is a good sign and it’s the beginning of the way of life called philosophy.

Join us as we read the foundational texts of Western philosophy through the dialogues of Plato. No prior knowledge is needed, only curiosity and a desire to explore life’s biggest questions.
