Shtisel: Can Ultra-Orthodoxy Be Sexy? The amazing, award-winning Israeli tv show streaming on NETFLIX is just one of the topics of our annual Shavuot Study Session this Saturday night, June 8, 2019.

Come learn about what is true and accurate, exaggerated and embellished in the lives of the Ultra-Orthodox.

Personal message from our Rabbi:

With the events in Pittsburgh still agonizingly fresh in our minds and many fearing rising instances of anti-semitism in our country, I propose it's time to fight back.

Yes, the shul has strong security at our buildings.

Yes, the shul has hired an additional Shabbat guard.

Yes, the shul has increased our guards' hours.

But allow me to ask you one questions: "What have you done to fight back?"

No, I don't expect you to show up with a side arm.

But there is something we all can do: .

All over the world people have accepted the challenge to attend services this Friday night (6:00pm) and Saturday morning (9:00am). We will make a clear statement to those who would attack our communities, attack our synagogues, attack our elderly and our brothers and sisters:

We are Israel! We are the New Jews! We will not cower behind locked doors like our grandparents in Europe in 1942.

We cannot allow an additional tragedy: the tragedy of Jews who feel they can no longer freely attend shuls, send our children to Day Schools, or visit Jewish institutions and events.

Therefore, I am making a personal request that every member of the community, male, female, adult, child, rain or shine, join us this Shabbas.

It's not about the sermon. It's not about the kiddush. It's about sending a strong message to the world.

"I am Jewish. I am proud. I am not afraid".

See you tomorrow, have a good shabbas.
