Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the place,
Not a creature was praying, not one on their face.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care,
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not one ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap,
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray,
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!
The light of His face made me cover my head,
It was Jesus returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand,
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "It's not here" my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love,
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound,
While all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too late,
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.
In the words of this poem the meaning is clear,
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call,
We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

I did not write this but wanted to share!

This gave me chills. It’s a good reminder that now is the time to seek God. One day soon, it’ll be too late!

Love you friends!!♥️❤️

What Is a Preacher
In the mind of man, a preacher is a different person than ordinary people. Some tend to place him on a pedestal, some feel uncomfortable in his presence; some avoid him, some dislike him, yet nearly everyone expects him to be there when they need him. Just what is a preacher anyway? • A preacher is a man of like weakness, feelings, needs, emotions, temptations, and fears of all men. He just tries a little harder to suppress them than most.
• A preacher is a man always behind on his work and studies, visiting, counseling, teaching, writing, etc., but would not have it any other way.
• A preacher is a man who is seldom praised, but is often criticized and is always expected to wear a smile and never show discouragement, which he tries very hard to do.
• A preacher is a man who is expected to lead while others meekly follow.
• A preacher is a man who is expected to give others credit for success but to take the blame if things go wrong.
• A preacher is a man who is expected to settle all disputes, solve all problems, and maintain peace and harmony but to be ready to move on if the trouble makers get the upper hand.
• A preacher is a man of many bosses, many of whom complain about his work and feel that he is overpaid.
• A preacher is a man who builds no seniority, has no job security (except faith in his God), and no earthly home to retire to when he is too old to work.
• A preacher is a man who loves his work more than he loves security, privacy, houses, lands, fame and honor, or a retirement plan.
• A preacher is a man who needs your prayers, understanding, and acceptance. Conclusion: Did someone say a preacher’s life is easy? Author Unknown

Kidnapped At Church
I saw it with my own eyes last Sunday moniing. A 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl were kidnapped right out of the assembly on Sunday morning. It was a terrible sight but I was helpless to come to their rescue. People were all around, late-comers were looking for seats and the ushers were busy trying to get everyone seated.
A lady of good report in our community -- who is a member of our local church family -- secured the cooperation of some other people nearby, and grabbed these children by the arms and started out the door. My first impulse was to jump off the rostrum and race to the back of the auditorium to stop this kidnapping. I thought the ushers might stop them, so I kept my seat. The three adults surrounded the children and marched them out past everybody! Finally, my conscience prodded me to run to their rescue. Intended to overtake them on the parking lot but was hindered by a large number of people who were also leaving the assembly after partaking of the Lord's supper. Sadly, I watched them drive away in their late model automobile. This happened right under my nose and I was powerless to help.
I wanted to call the police but I did not. I wanted to dismiss the service and form a posse, but I did not. I wanted to report this to the F. B. I., but I did not. I just didn't take the time to act immediately because the congregation was waiting for me to deliver the sermon. With a heavy heart I proceeded to preach a lesson on the blessings of Christian worship. What a pity! Those who really needed this lesson were already gone from the assembly.
You see, the kids were "kidnapped" away from God's worship by their mother and her neighbors, who do not have time to stay for the rest of the worship. I guess they had it figured like many other good brethren, that the Lord's Supper is the most important part of the worship. So after partaking of it, they felt free to leave the assembly and take care of more pressing matters.
If I knew where to look, I might could have found these kidnappers at the front of the line at some restaurant.

The Bummer Lamb
Every once in a while, a ewe will give birth to a lamb and reject it. There are many reasons she may do this. If the lamb is returned to the ewe, the mother may even kick the poor animal away. Once a ewe rejects one of her lambs, she will never change her mind.

These little lambs will hang their heads so low that it looks like something is wrong with its neck. Their spirit is broken.

These lambs are called "bummer lambs." Unless the shepherd intervenes, that lamb will die, rejected and alone. So, do you know what the shepherd does?

He takes that rejected little one into his home, hand-feeds it and keep it warm by the fire. He will wrap it up with blankets and hold it to his chest so the bummer can hear his heartbeat. Once the lamb is strong enough, the shepherd will place it back in the field with the rest of the flock.

But that sheep never forgets how the shepherd cared for him when his mother rejected him. When the shepherd calls for the flock, guess who runs to him first?

That is right, the bummer sheep. He knows his voice intimately.

It is not that the bummer lamb is loved more, it just knows intimately the one who loves it.

It's not that it is loved more, it just believes it because it has experienced that love one on one.

So many of us are bummer lambs, rejected and broken. But He is the good Shepherd. He cares for our every need and holds us close to His heart so we can hear His heartbeat.

We may be broken but we are deeply loved by the Shepherd.

Seven truths to repeat when you’re in a spiritual battle.

God’s got this
The Lord fights for me.
Jesus loves me.
Not today Satan.
I am a child of God.
He is able.
It is finished.
His grace is sufficient.
Joy comes in the morning.
I am not alone.
I am fearfully and wonderfully
made.
Fear has no grip on me.
Christ is enough for me.
He has overcame the world.
I am a new creation in Christ.
Jesus conquered the grave.
Sin doesn’t define me, Christ does.
Be still and know.
God is good.

“A rattlesnake bit one of my sheep in the face about a week ago. Deadliest snake that lives around here. The sheep’s face swelled up and hurt her terribly.

But the old rattlesnake didn't know the kind of blood that flows through the sheep. Anti-venom is most often made from sheep's blood. The sheep swelled for about 2 days but the blood of the lamb destroyed the venom of the serpent.

I was worried but the sheep didn't care. She kept on eating, kept on drinking and kept on climbing because she knew she was alright.

Often the serpents of this life will reach out and bite us. They inject their poison into us but they cannot overcome the Blood of the Lamb of God that washes away the sin of the world and the sting of death. Don't worry about the serpent or his bite, just make sure that the Lamb's Blood is flowing through your veins.”
