Happy feast of Corpus Christi! Today we celebrate the reality that Jesus is with us always and is truly present in the Eucharist. We get to participate in this mystery by receiving Jesus at Mass and spending time with him in Adoration. ⁣

Happy Feast of St. Anthony! This popular saint is well known for finding lost things, but why? According to tradition, when one of St. Anthony’s students decided to leave the community, he took with him St. Anthony’s cherished book of Psalms. St. Anthony then prayed that the novice would have a change of heart and return the book…and sure enough the man came back, bringing the book with him. St. Anthony, help us find the things we may have misplaced!⁣

This Jubilee Year is an opportunity to experience anew God’s overwhelming, abundant, and generous love! He loves us so much that he gave us his Son.⁣

“God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1).⁣

During this holy year, let God love you and permit him to reveal to you how much he loves you. May our hearts be awakened by God’s love!⁣

Archbishop Richard Henning today shared the following statement on the election of Pope Leo XIV:

"With great joy we received the news from Rome: habemus papam! We have a pope! I join with Catholics in the Archdiocese of Boston and throughout the world, along with people of good will, in celebrating the election of Pope Leo XIV as the new Holy Father. We pray for him as he begins this ministry as the Vicar of Christ and the Bishop of Rome.

May he be for us a visible source and foundation of communion in faith.

In his first words to us, Pope Leo spoke of the peace that is the gift of the Lord Jesus:
Peace be with you all, this is the first greeting of the resurrected Christ, the good shepherd who has given up his life for the flock of God. And I should also like this greeting of peace to enter our hearts and our families. (Pope Leo XIV from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica)
May that peace give him strength and consolation, and may it fill our hearts as we live our own calling."

Today we are invited to venerate this image of Jesus. The white and red rays symbolize the blood and water that gushed forth from Jesus’s side on the cross. Here they are transformed into rays as a symbol of the healing grace of Jesus’s mercy. ⁣

St. Mark is known as Mark the Evangelist. He was a missionary for the early Church and died a martyr for the faith. His gospel focuses on Jesus’ rejection by humanity, his sonship of God the Father, and his Passion. St. Mark, pray for us! ⁣
