Today, we honour and give glory to God for all mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, godmothers and spiritual mothers in our lives, who reflect the unconditional love and nurturing spirit of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Mother of our Lord.

In the Orthodox tradition, motherhood is a sacred vocation, filled with prayer, sacrifice, patience, and grace. As we celebrate today, we especially honour the profound example of the Panagia, who humbly accepted God’s will and bore Christ into the world for our salvation, becoming the Mother of Life.

May God bless all mothers with grace, health, joy, peace and strength - we offer prayers of gratitude and love for your tireless devotion, your faith, and your beautiful witness - and may He grant rest to those mothers who have fallen asleep in the Lord.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her"
- Proverbs 31:28

WISHING ALL MOTHERS A BLESSED AND JOYOUS MOTHER’S DAY!

Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen! ☦️

Listen to these beautiful voices from St. Symeon's OCA in Birmingham, AL. This Gregorian Chant is always a favorite.

Maybe we can pull it off at St. Basil's one year! 😉
