This past Sunday, for our second multi-generational "Sunday Session" program sponsored by the Women of Shir Chadash, we were grateful to welcome Lindsay Baach Friedmann from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for an important and timely conversation about antisemitism and how we can help our children navigate it.

Together, we explored how to talk with children about antisemitism, how to recognize it, and how to support them when they encounter prejudice or antisemitic behavior in their own lives. It was a thoughtful and practical conversation, giving parents and our community tools to respond with confidence, resilience, and Jewish pride.

Meanwhile, our children had a blast creating and decorating their very own journals, under the guidance of our Gan teacher, Art Coman-Bennett, while enjoying a kid-friendly dinner and hearing a classic story read by “PJ Library lady” Bonnie Lustig.

We are so excited to welcome the Jewish Community Day School to Shir Chadash! Yesterday we celebrated the ribbon cutting and the first day of school in the Middle School’s new home here at the synagogue. We are thrilled to share this space and partnership, as JCDS students learn in our new classrooms, gather and pray in our chapel, and become part of the life of our community. We look forward to watching this partnership grow and flourish for many years to come!
