The Homegoing Service for Deaconess Elizabeth Dillon (95 years young) will take place this Friday and Saturday at Rising Star Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor David Jenkins.
My mom requested a 2-day service, similar to those done in olden times.
On Friday (1.3.2025) from 7-9 pm, there will be a Celebration of her Life, where we will sing some of her favorite Christian hymns and allow family and friends an opportunity to reminisce.
On Saturday (1.4.2025), the funeral service will occur as follows: visitation from 9-10 am and the funeral program from 10 am-12 pm. The eulogy will be delivered by her grandson, Pastor John Dillon, Jr. (The Body of Christ Fellowship Church and Cypress Grove Baptist Church).
We will then travel to MS for her burial in the family cemetery. A Repast will follow at the Cotton-Gin Restaurant/Reception Hall.
