Walking with Christ requires intentionality. In the church, we often fall into the trap of thinking that spiritual depth and maturity happen through osmosis, just by being around a community or through a passive reading of scripture. But the Bible teaches us otherwise.
True growth begins when we choose to incline our ear, apply our hearts to understanding, and actively think about what God says. As a church, we are called to be thinkers who mine for nuggets of divine wisdom through hard work and prayer, knowing that while searching the scriptures is our task, the gift of illumination belongs completely to the Lord.
For the Gospel message to keep multiplying through us, we must cultivate the three characteristics of the F.A.T. acronym in our daily lives: being faithful to the truth, available for the mission, and keeping a teachable spirit that yearns to grow. God does not look for the most qualified or gifted people of this world; He looks for ordinary people who are ready to say, "Here I am, send me."
If you were with us for this last service or if you are following our community right here, we want to encourage you to take a practical step in your walk of faith.
Which of these three traits (faithful, available, or teachable) do you need to develop more in your life this week?
