Hello members of the Mesa East stake! As part of a new initiative by the Church, our stake will transitioning from a page to an open Facebook Group.

The purpose of this group, in addition to information about events and other relevant subjects, is to share faith-building experiences through stories, short (no more than 1 minute videos, photos, etc. The goal is for stake members to 1, share experiences and 2, share other's experiences on their personal pages. If you have a faith-building experience you'd like to share, go ahead! And if another's story speaks to you or inspires you, share it! If we as members of the Mesa East stake do these 2 things, I know we will be successful in bringing more souls to Christ.

Want to save those old family photos? Make them more easily shareable? Digitize them – for FREE at the Mesa Temple Visitors’ Center, 455 E. Main St. Mesa – Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

The Visitors’ Center’s equipment has the capability to scan and convert to digital format photographs, negatives, slides, 8 mm and Super8 movie reels, audio cassettes, VHS, CD’s, DVD’s, PDF’s and floppy discs. Call 480-964-7164 to reserve the use of a machine.

There is a high need for senior missionaries to serve away from home and locally. A Senior Missionary Devotional was held on Sunday, Oct. 30 for the North American Southwest (NASW) Area for those age 40 and above. The meeting was held under the direction of Elder Michael A. Dunn of the NASW Area Presidency. Both he and Elder Steven D. Shumway spoke. Elder Dunn also led a panel discussion to explore what it is like to serve as a senior missionary. For those who could not attend, you can view the meeting at the link below which will be live through November 13.

A new ward has been created to serve single adults (ages 31-45) who reside within the stakes of the Mesa West and East Coordinating Councils. This is optional for those who would like to attend and choose to do so.

The new ward will meet at the Mountain View Stake Center located at 1550 N Val Vista Drive on Sundays from 2-4 pm beginning November 6.

The new bishopric and their wives look forward to lovingly welcoming those who decide to attend.

On October 15th, members of the Mesa East Stake, Alta Mesa Stake, and Kimball East Stake participated in a flower-planting project on the grounds of the temple. They planted several thousand flowers in about an hour! Thank you to all those who volunteered their time to make the temple more beautiful.
