He Built a Beauty Empire—Now He’s Becoming a Catholic Priest

After years of success in the business world, e.l.f. Cosmetics founder Scott-Vincent Borba is leaving behind the corporate spotlight for something far more unexpected: the Catholic priesthood.

Known for building one of America’s most recognizable beauty brands, Borba spent years in an industry driven by image, marketing, and success. By most standards, he had already “made it.”

But somewhere along the way, another call began to grow louder.

Instead of continuing down the path of business expansion and celebrity partnerships, Borba discerned a vocation to serve God and His Church. He entered seminary formation and is now scheduled to be ordained a priest for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno this month.

It’s a striking reminder that vocations can emerge in the most unexpected places—even boardrooms and beauty companies.

One life was spent building a brand.

The next will be spent serving souls.
