Most Rev. Robert J. McClory was appointed the fifth bishop of Gary on Nov. 26, 2019. Established Dec. 17, 1956, and officially entrusted to the care of Bishop Andrew Grutka on Feb. 25, 1957, the Diocese of Gary has grown to 68 parishes, serving Roman Catholics in Lake, Porter, LaPorte and Starke counties in Northwest Indiana. It counts more than 18,000 students under Catholic instruction in its s

chools and religious education programs. The Most Rev. McClory is the fifth bishop to lead the diocese. NOTE: Comments must be respectful and relate directly to the topic at hand.
