The Edge Church

Saved in 1983, Pastors Lonnie & Barbara Jarvis became students of the Word of God. Lonnie held many positions in local churches; youth director, outreach director, teach, and elder. Receiving and evangelistic call from the Lord in 1986, Evangelist Lonnie Jarvis continued secular employment in a middle management capacity with a large corporation until 1990 when he resigned his position after over

twenty years of service going into full time ministry. Beginning in 1991, Lonnie and Barbara helpled pioneer a church in Northwest Indiana, starting with approximately thirty-five people. In 1996 he obeyed the call of the Lord, resigned his position with the church and founded Lonnie Jarvis Ministries, which is dedicated to taking the gospel to the nations of the world. Evangelist Jarvis has an earned Doctor of Theology degree in religious education. During 2003 the Lord laid it upon Dr. Jarvis to establish a church. One where he and Barb could duplicate themselves raising up a body of believers that would be willing to take the gospel not only to the world, but to their own neighborhoods and families. In January of 2004, they answered the call and founded THE EDGE CHURCH of Northwest Indiana. Today, Evangelist Jarvis is also called Pastor, and along with his wife Barbara, they pastor THE EDGE CHURCH located in Merrillville, Indiana. They have two adult children; Daughter Tonia and her husband, Jason Frederick, both ORU grads, are busy raising their four darling daughters; son, Aaron and his wife Monica and their three active children, a girl and two boys. All are active in local churches in Northwest Indiana.
