The Freedom Center is led by Pastor Galen Williams, with his wife Mary by his side. They were married in 1990 at Full Faith Church of Love in Shawnee Mission. There Galen was heavily involved with the Worship team while Mary delved into their dance team. On top of that both of them were active with the passion plays, outreaches and Care Ministry. Following their commitment to Full Faith they felt
called down to 7th and Central. While there they immersed themselves in the church by joining in Music, dance, drama, children and youth ministries and many outreaches to the community. Galen and Mary called this their church home for three years. For the following three years Pastor Galen and his wife Mary traveled as evangelists to different cities. Galen continued to lead worship teams and preach the word everywhere they went. In their marriage and in their personal lives they listened to God's prompting. If He called them to another church or community they listened without worry. This led them to many different churches where they were able to lead worship teams, children and youth groups, and even drama teams. They eventually settled in the Midwest helping a church in Louisburg, MO for four years before moving onto Lawson, MO for the following six years as their worship leader. In 2004, Galen and Mary Williams began a new journey with Cornerstone Community Church. Galen became their associate pastor and worship leader, while also leading bible studies, children and youth services, and a Friday night outreach in Kansas City, KS. It was in 2011 that Galen and Mary were called to break off from Cornerstone Community Church to lead their own church in the Mission area of Kansas City. Listening to that very calling they began what is now known as The Freedom Center in January 2012. Throughout the years Galen has taken several Bible college courses and even recorded music. They enjoy their church fellowship at the Chatlin Park in Merriam, Kansas every last Wednesday of the month from May through August. They also have Bible study on Wednesday night at different home groups. Once a month there is a men's and women's group where they get together and have fellowship. Freedom Center Staff/Volunteers:
