THANKFUL THURSDAY:
Today in the midst of stress and craziness, there is an overwhelming gratefulness for a "job" (it's more like joy than job...) that allows me to grow spiritually as I prepare to teach. This week, we were teaching the Children about the Fruit of the Spirit and I was deeply convicted and moved by the list of nine evidences of transformation God gives us as we are changed by His Spirit (See Galatians 5:22-23). Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control...what a list, right? I had to ask myself just as I did our children, "Is your life marked with the evidence or fruit of God's transforming power through His Spirit?" It brought me to tears to think that the God of the universe not only sent Christ to rescue us by absorbing God's wrath on the cross for our sin (His wrath toward our sin is fierce!), but also to transform us as He works in us through His indwelling Spirit!! What a beautiful, gracious, loving God He is!
