The church was never meant to be confined within four walls. It was meant to gather, to grow, and then to go—to shine, to serve, to love, and to bring the presence of Jesus wherever we go.

Gathering with believers matters. We need the encouragement, teaching, worship, fellowship, and accountability that happen when the Church comes together. But we were never meant to stay inside the building.

You can attend church every Sunday and still miss the heart of what it means to be the Church. Because being the Church isn’t just about sitting in a pew—it’s about living with purpose, walking in obedience, and carrying Christ into every place He sends you.

The goal isn’t simply to gather more often, but to live out more deeply what we receive when we gather. Every act of kindness, every word of grace, every stand for truth, every display of love—that’s the Church in motion.

Let’s gather. Let’s grow. And then let’s go.

Let’s not just go to church. Let’s be the Church—His hands and feet, His light in the darkness, and His love in a world desperate for hope. 🤍🙏🏻

A careful mouth begins with a surrendered heart.

Psalm 19:14 NIV says, “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

God is concerned with more than what others hear. He also sees the thoughts beneath our words. Invite Him to shape both before emotion becomes speech.

Why Anglicans Worship the Way They Do

Anglicans worship as they do because they believe Christian worship should be governed by Holy Scripture, shaped by the practice of the ancient and undivided Church, and ordered according to the historic liturgy of the Church.

They understand public worship not as a matter of personal taste or innovation, but as the Church's reverent offering of praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God through Jesus Christ. For this reason, Anglican worship is centered on the reading and preaching of God's Word, the faithful administration of the Sacraments—especially Holy Communion—and the common prayers of the Church.

The liturgy, preserved in the Book of Common Prayer, provides a scriptural, doctrinal, and orderly pattern of worship that unites the Church across generations. Ceremonies, music, vestments, and sacred symbols are valued not for their own sake, but because they direct the heart and mind to the glory of God and the mystery of Christ.

In all things, Anglican worship seeks to embody the apostolic faith with reverence, dignity, and beauty, giving glory to the Holy Trinity while forming God's people in holiness and truth.

What is Lectio Divina?

The simple five steps of Lectio Divina are
Read (Lectio),

Meditate (Meditatio),

Pray (Oratio),

Contemplate (Contemplatio), and

Act (Actio).

The Five Steps
Read ( Lectio): Read a short Bible passage slowly two or three times. Look for a single word or phrase that catches your eye.

Meditate (Meditatio): Think deeply about that specific word or phrase. Ask how these words connect to your current life.

Pray (Oratio): Talk to God in your own words. Share what you feel, what you need, or what you thank Him for.

Contemplate (Contemplatio): Sit quietly in silence. Rest in God's presence without needing to say anything.

Act (Actio): Choose one practical step. Decide how you will live out this message during your week.

Good morning from St Peter’s:

Tomorrow’s reading are:
Nehemiah 9:16-21; Psalm 78:1-26; Romans 8:35-39 and Matthew 14:13-21.

All are very rich and I look forward to our sharing what God has highlighted for us.

I encourage you to take a few verses of one of the readings and use the ancient spiritual practice of Lectio Divina (sacred reading). I will remind you of the steps in the next post.

Today we focused on Isaiah 55 …

Underneath the noise of our ordinary day, there is an older voice still calling out, like in the day of Isaiah, across the marketplace of our lives.
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters. Come , buy wine and milk without money and without price”

It is the strangest advertisement ever written. Every merchant in Babylon ( and in our day) wanted something from the people passing by.

This voice wants nothing but to give. Listen diligently…incline your ear, and come to me; hear , that your soul may live.

The voice still calls out in our day.. Come. everyone who thirsts.

God calls out to you and to me. Come.
