On Sunday, Rev. Cory Phillips continued our summer series “Greater: A Walk though Hebrews” preaching from Hebrews 2 about the danger of drifting away from the truth of the gospel. The message warned us that neglecting salvation is not always a dramatic rejection of faith, but often a slow loosening of our grip through busyness, comfort, and the pressures of the culture.
Jesus did not simply die to forgive us and leave us unchanged. He destroyed the power of death and freed us from slavery to fear, giving us the Holy Spirit so that we can live empowered lives. We as Christians are called not just to be forgiven people, but to be transformed people who demonstrate the power of Christ to a lost and broken world.
A highlight on Sunday was celebrating two sacraments: Holy Baptism of a precious infant and congregational Holy Communion. If you're seeking a church home, please join us for worship next Sunday at 9 a.m.
