Covenant Church - Meridian, MS

10/12/2026

On Sunday, we were blessed to welcome Rev. Hugh Griffith as our guest pastor! Hugh serves as Director of Awakening Collegiate Fellowship at Mississippi State University, an important ministry partner of Covenant Church as we seek to share the Gospel and grow God's Kingdom in our college communities.

Drawing from Mark 1:16–20 and John 15:9–10, Hugh challenged us to consider what it means to be an intentional disciple of Jesus. Through the calling of Peter, Andrew, James, and John, he reminded us that before there is doing, there is being with Jesus.

True discipleship isn't simply about what we do for Christ, but about spending time with Him, abiding in His love, and allowing that relationship to transform our lives.

During the service, our Missions Team presented Hugh with a donation to support the continued ministry of Awakening at Mississippi State.

We are grateful for Hugh's message and for the opportunity to partner in sharing the love of Christ with the next generation!
