Meriden Hills youth (6th - 9th grades)

Finished our five part series on “overcoming failures” tonight.

Step 1: Admit your mistakes (repent) - James 5:16

Step 2: Learn to do better from someone who knows better (accept correction) - Proverbs 12:1 & Proverbs 29:1

Step : Choose the right friends (Build support) - Proverbs 13:20 & Ecclesiastes 4:12

Step 4: Don’t let your failures become your identity (give yourself the freedom to grow) - 2 Corinthians 5:17 & Proverbs 24:16

Step 5:  Bury your failures, don’t carry them (failures are meant to be a lesson, not a weight) - Philippians 3:13-14 & 1 Peter 4:8

Shoe Giveaway

When: August 16 @ 5pm-7pm

Where: Meriden Green (77 State Street, Meriden CT 06450)

What: Meriden Hills will be distributing over 1,500 brand new shoes to students in elementary, middle school and high school.

Who: Students must be residents of the following communities
Meriden
Cheshire
Wallingford
Berlin
Middlefield
Durham

Registration: registration will be on site beginning at 4PM. Shoe distribution will begin at 5 PM. Children need to be present. Parents need ID (state ID, library card, mail, etc.) or report card proving residency of one of the communities above.

Vouchers for free haircuts will also be distributed during the event.

Stick around for live music and free food during the two hour community event
