Today we join the family of our beloved former Music Minister, Eleanor Hurlburt as they mourn her passing and celebrate her life. We pray for peace and comfort during this moment in their family's life, and give thanks for the ways in which Eleanor blessed our faith community over the years.

From the Moderator:

Dear Center Church Congregation,

The State of Connecticut has again reached the 15+ rate of cases in all but three towns in CT. The hospitals in CT are again opening areas specific for the virus and the Mediquick on Pomeroy Avenue has closed due to illness of their staff.

The Christmas holiday gatherings, the Omicron variant's increased ability to spread faster and the increase in breakthrough cases of those fully vaccinated and boosted has substantially increased the risk of keeping the church open.

The Church Council has voted to close the church until the number of cases again diminishes in our area. Both our secretary, Joan Gordon, and Reverend Filkins, (when he returns on January 11, 2022) will be working remotely.

If there is a need for emergency pastoral care, please contact Deacon Barbara Langner.

Our sharing Sunday with FCC Cheshire has also been canceled as they move to online worship as well.

Dear Church Family,
My heart is full and my tears of gratitude are still flowing. I am deeply honored by the incredible gifts presented to me yesterday. The words spoken and written in the beautiful book are so precious. Each entry reminds me how much of a blessing the work in Christian Education at CCC has been to me and my life. Having a Little Free Library outside of the church is something I have dreamed of for years, and to be able to work with the children and youth to decorate it is just a wonderful blessing I will cherish. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

COVID-19 POLICY UPDATE:

Due to the recent resurgence of COVID-19 in our area and the state, and with the rise of breakthrough cases, we will be requiring masks in worship and other settings within the church, regardless of vaccination status. We will continue to host fellowship hour after services, but will do so without refreshments to mitigate the removal of masks. We thank you all for your willingness to be Christ in these small ways that help ensure the health and safety of our faith community and beyond.
