Sermon Review: 1 Peter 4:19 "Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good."

If there is a single verse that best sums up 1 Peter it is this one. He informs us there will be suffering in this fallen world. Yet we can trust the LORD's plan for our lives by living like citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven because He is faithful. We are Not Of This World and because of that we are free to commit our lives here to our King. May He bless you and your family this week.

Sermon Sneak Peek: 1 Peter 4:1-2 "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; (2) That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God."

This Sunday, 10:30am at Mercer Baptist Church, we dig into the mind of a citizen of Heaven. It is a mind like Christ's. Peter encourages us to "arm" ourselves with the mind of Christ then describes 10 characteristics of that mind. As we grow as disciples we become more Christlike in our thinking, feelings, and actions. This is the journey. May God bless you and your family today.

Sermon Recap: 1 Peter 3:8-9 "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. (9) Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing."

We are Not Of This World. We are citizens of the Kingdom of God. The LORD has been showing us through 1 Peter that we can live like the people of God in this fallen world. We are transformed by His love, grace, mercy, and power. We are equipped to be His ambassadors to those who do not know Him yet. This is our calling. This is our blessing. May God bless you and your family this week.

Renew & Revive: 1 Peter 2:16-17 "Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. (17) Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor."

As people Not Of This World we are free to live like citizens of the Kingdom of God. That means we are freed, commissioned, and empowered to honor everyone, love each other, and fear/reverence/worship/obey the LORD. This is to be the culture and atmosphere of the people of God. May the LORD bless you and your family this week.

Sermon Review: 1 Peter 2:21 "For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in His steps."

We are Not Of This World. We are subjects of the Kingdom of God. We are not in His physical Kingdom yet but are called and empowered to live like it. We are give the LORD's example to follow while we are on assignment here. Holy living in a hostile world is not easy, but it is blessed and fulfilling.
