All the paper layers have dried and now it's time to paint. There's going to be several colors so trust the process.

We're in step 3 of the bread making process. I took one sheet of the catalog paper that I used to stuff the bread and cover the top. I cut that paper in half vertically to make a long strip of paper. I soaked this paper in water for at least 2 minutes to get it soft. Then I folded each piece in half and submerged it in the glue solution pinching to remove the excess. I placed each piece on top of the bread in a crosswise pattern. Now for the hardest part to let them dry. I usually make the bread out of toilet paper but I decided to do it this way. I did not wait for the drying to complete between covering it and putting the cross on top. Now that this is all done it will need to dry completely. Tomorrow I will brush on glue to seal everything after that dries I will paint it using acrylic paint

Next step in the bread making process is to fill a sink with enough hot water to soak two pages. I mixed up 2 cups of pva or school white glue with 2 cups of water in a bucket.(don't worry if you have left overs you will need it later.) soak your 2 pages in water long enough for them to become soft (30 seconds to a min) with each wet paper you will dip it in the glue solution and wrap one front to back and the other back to front. Press and remove excess glue in a circular motion making a dome shaped bread. . I put mine on a crate outside using the summer heat to "cook" them . I couldn't help but meditate on the Holy Eucharist , how I was going to teach this upcoming year and asking the Lord for the strength to be who He needs me to be.

Get ready with me as I prepare my classroom for First Holy Communion! Today we are making bread for a Eucharist display. Take an old catalog the ones with thin paper . I cut 3 pages crinkled them and layered them on thin aluminum foil from the dollar store then folded and rounded them off to look like round loaves. But we're not done yet. Please check back for the finished results.
