On May 1st - We're Moving!!!

Yup - that's right - we're moving - Again!!! This time, it's not a huge move - we're moving to the office suite directly below us.

That suite has been vacant for the entire time we've been here, and climbing the stairs ain't getting any easier.

As we get time, we'll post pictures of the empty space and layout.

Our servers (web and others) will be going down today due to an upgrade and transfer of services from Spectrum Business to AT&T Business. Our dedication to lowering our costs so that we can keep our costs low for our clients is PARAMOUNT to our operating model.

Due to this move, our nameservers will not work for a period of time until we can update the Static IP's - basically, we have to configure a few things after the fiber install.

Well - I've been blocked by much, much better than they...

But... my heart weighs today... so this:

A Heavy Heart

In sanctuaries cloaked in prayer,
Where words of faith should fill the air,
Lies twist and turn in shadows deep,
Promises broken, secrets they keep.

A heavy heart bears this dismay,
For souls that choose a darker way.
They wear their piety like a mask,
Deceit and malice are their hidden task.

To your face, they smile and greet,
With words so sweet, you feel the heat.
Yet turn your back, and there it lies,
The truth unveiled, a cruel disguise.

They preach of love, of peace, and grace,
But in their hearts, a different place.
A sanctuary cold and stark,
Where the light of truth does not embark.

My heart, it weeps for these lost souls,
For whom hypocrisy takes its toll.
They claim the light, yet dwell in night,
Their actions cloaked from honest sight.

I seek a place where hearts align,
With words of truth, intentions fine.
Where what is said and what is done,
Are woven tight, both acts as one.

For in this world of fleeting faith,
A heavy heart seeks no trace.
But yearns for honesty's embrace,
And deeds that mirror a smiling face.

In maintaining our commitment to keeping our costs low so we can provide more to our community members, we recently completed a comprehensive expense audit. During our audit, our greatest expense turned out to be our current phone system under Spectrum and RingCentral.

Over the past six years, we have added many services to our in-house systems—publishing, web hosting, cloud services, and even our continuing education system. After some intensive research, we discovered we could self-host our phone system on an old Dell Intel i5 desktop we had lying around for a fraction of what we currently pay using open-source software and VoIP.ms.

Therefore, in the next few weeks, we will implement yet another in-house service as we move away from RingCentral - our phone system. Unfortunately, this means we will be changing the office phone number.

After doing lots of research and speaking with PBX professionals, we have already set up our new system and are in the process of configuring it - which so far is much easier than RingCentral. It can even grow with us should we finally be able to expand to a wellness and retreat center.

After the change, just for the phones, our estimated monthly cost will be less than $4.00. The cost difference is astounding - we will pay less per year than we currently pay per month - yes, you read that right (we currently pay around $65/month with RingCentral, and we will end up paying about $48.00/year for the same service - web apps, VM to email, fax on the same line, SMS, etc...).

Now - let's see what we can do about the internet service... Maybe it's time to see if AT&T has fiber optic in our area for less than Spectrum.

I'll post the new number as soon as we finish the configs.
