Church isn't a building.
This past Sunday, Advent gathered at Veterans Park for worship, fellowship, good food, and a beautiful morning together.
There were no sanctuary walls around us — just picnic tables, lawn chairs, trees, neighbors passing by, and the people of God gathered around Word and Sacrament.
A wonderful reminder that wherever God's people gather in Christ's name, the Church is there.
Loved by God, we share Christ's love with all.

Coffee. Donuts. Stories. And probably a few opinions. 😄
Advent's Retired Men's Group gets together on the first Thursday of each month for coffee, donuts, conversation, and a little learning along the way.
Sometimes they explore the story behind a favorite hymn. Sometimes it's a bit of Cleveland-area history. And almost always, one story leads to another — and there's plenty of reminiscing along the way.
Nothing fancy. Just good conversation and good company around the table.
And there's always room for another chair.

As of now, Saturday afternoon, the weather looks promising for tomorrow's outdoor worship and church picnic. It might be a bit cool so dress appropriately. Hope to see you there!

This was Will's second solo performance on the cello. "This is My Song" (Finlandia) on 7/26/26. Several church members approached him after the service to talk to him, thank him and, encourage him. One woman had tears in her eyes and told Will he'd played her husband's favorite song. He had recently passed away and it warmed her heart to hear it played. If you'd like to hear Will's next performance, he'd love to see you there at Advent Lutheran Church on August 30 at the 9:00 am traditional service. All are welcome!
