Cremation burial services for Ms. Helen Coutu of Mentone will be held at Bankhead Cemetery on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Ms. Coutu was a dear friend of Nancy Smith. Services are under the direction of Burt Funeral Home of Valley Head.

The Bankhead Cemetery Association is pleased to announce the installation of its new slate of officers and trustees during today’s Annual Decoration Day activities.

Officers installed for the coming term include:

President — Rev. Dr. Don G. Brock
Vice President — Mr. Chuck O’Rear
Secretary — Dr. Fred Johnson
Treasurer — Ms. Susan Hooks

Trustees:
Rev. Phillip Bain
Mr. Rodney Foster
Mr. Hershell Pruitt

We appreciate the willingness of these individuals to serve and help lead the continued preservation, improvement, and future vision of Bankhead Cemetery. Their dedication to honoring those who have gone before us and serving our community is deeply appreciated.

What a wonderful day at our Annual Decoration Day at Bankhead Cemetery!

We were blessed with a tremendous crowd, great fellowship, inspiring music and singing, and a powerful message brought by Rev. Phillip Bain. The Board of Directors was also honored to present a very positive report concerning the continued progress and work taking place at the cemetery.

Today was a meaningful reminder of the importance of honoring and remembering those who have gone before us. We are grateful to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make the day such a success.

A very special THANK YOU to all of our donors for your faithful support. Your generosity helps preserve and maintain this sacred place for future generations.
