Alabama Governor Kay Ivey recently announced the appointment of Ron Burgess, Fred Johnson, Demarcus Joiner, and Quinton Ross to the Alabama Public Service Commission.

We are especially proud to congratulate Dr. Fred Johnson, who serves as Secretary of the Bankhead Cemetery Association and is the former CEO of Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative. Dr. Johnson has been a valued member of the Bankhead Cemetery Board of Directors, and we are grateful for his leadership, dedication, and service.

The graveside service and burial for Joan Harrison will be held today, Friday, June 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Bankhead Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrison's family has expressed their appreciation for the kindness shown by the community. At the request of her daughter, those attending Bankhead Cemetery Decoration Day recently joined in singing "Precious Memories" in her honor, a meaningful tribute to her life and memory.

Family and friends are invited to attend today's graveside service as we gather to celebrate Joan's life and commit her to her final resting place.

"Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul."

Cremation burial services for Ms. Helen Coutu of Mentone will be held at Bankhead Cemetery on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Ms. Coutu was a dear friend of Nancy Smith. Services are under the direction of Burt Funeral Home of Valley Head.
