We should unashamedly pray that America will be strong and healthy, but we have minimal influence over the direction of our nation. However a great nation is made great in huge part by its great institutions. We have enormous and primary influence over 2 of them, the family and the local church. There's no excuse for have weak churches and dysfunctional families, that's 100% on you and me.

The French Revolution was in large apart about the dismantling of communal institutions from which we absorbed our values to an individualism which only required us to look within ourselves for guidance. In my opinion the experiment of radical individualism has made us detached, isolated, mistrusting and lonely. You are created for community, but be wise when choosing your tribe.

Tomorrow, in our "A Church Like," Jesus I want to explore how Jesus approached relationships. I am especially focused on Jesus approach to his relationship with and among his disciples. I a concerned that we have communicated effectively our need to love the world properly but not "one another." In a world experiencing a shortage of community local church's are often treated like mere spiritual fast-food joints instead of a deeply joined spiritual family.

Last evening Cheri and I attending the one man show of Max Maclean in a dramatic performance as C. S. Lewis. It was incredible. I have never heard to a clear and intelligent presentation of the Gospel. Lewis, a gift from God that keep on giving.
