This is my last issue as editor of our official denominational periodical. It has been a great, holy privilege and my pleasure to serve the CME Church and you in this capacity. Thank you for your support, prayers, and submissions for our denominational publication and for me as editor. This page and the website given above will be removed on July 31, 2026.

May the Lord bless the new editor, Rev. Kornelius Neal, and our church as we move forward from the 2026 General Conference. God bless all of you as well.

If you are a subscriber to the printed, hard copy of The Christian Index, you may not have yet received your May 2026 issue in the mail. I know you have been watching for it, and I deeply apologize in the name of the publication that your issue has not arrived in a timely manner. This is due to circumstances beyond my control as EDITOR of the publication.

However, because of the nature of the content of this issue, I am taking it upon myself to make this offer to you on behalf of the publication.

Through June 19, the end of the CME General Conference, you may receive a copy of the "Candidates" issue free of charge by going to The Christian Index website at the link below and placing an order for the MAY 2026 ISSUE. Other issues may also be ordered, but they will NOT be free of charge.

Bereavement Notice RE Mr. Samuel Lawrence Reddick:

Dear CME Church Family,

It is with deepest regret that I inform you of the transition of Mr. Samuel Lawrence Reddick, son of Rev. Robin Shyne Briggs and Senior Bishop Lawrence Reddick.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

VISITATION: Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 4347 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur, GA 30034.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM at College Park CME Church, 2755 Creel Road, Atlanta, GA 30349.

PLEASE NOTE: Seating preference is for immediate family, close friends of Sam, and our church leadership. We encourage you to meet the family at New Life Presbyterian Church, 6600 Old National Highway, Atlanta, GA 30349, where services will be streamed, and the repast will be held.

Condolences may be sent to Sam’s mother, Rev. Robin Briggs, 2236 Old Villa Rica Road, Unit 414, Powder Springs, GA 30127; and to Senior Bishop and Mrs. Lawrence Reddick, 1110 New Britain Dr. SW, Atlanta, GA 30331.
