Abyssinian Baptist is nested in the heart of Whitehaven. We are "growing church" in a "declining church" culture. We are becoming a gifted, innovative, inspired and informed congregational network of friends and kin who live out our faith in such a way that we become one of God’s tools to redeem those who are without Christ, reclaim those who have withdrawn from Christ and revive/rejuvenate those

who are currently in Christ.

• We are committed to the cause of social justice through Christ Jesus on behalf of the least, the last and the lost.
• We are committed to teaching, preaching and practicing the practical principles of Spirituality and Christian Faith.
• We are committed to providing an engaging, energetic and transformative worship experience.
• We are committed to supporting the ministry God has entrusted us with through our time, talent and treasure.
• We are committed to the uplift, education and empowerment of the family and local community.

Don't let religion make you a pacifist against aggressive injustice. Blind allegiance to officials who normalize pain and death won't help. It's time to resist. True change requires action, not just prayer breakfasts.

Jesus returns to Galilee, preaching a message of empowerment that electrifies the region. His sermon includes themes of economic equity, criminal justice reform, universal healthcare, and freedom from oppression, challenging the status quo.

In Tennessee, 1.7 million registered voters didn't cast a ballot in the last election. This isn't just about one county; major areas like Davidson, Shelby, and Knox saw hundreds of thousands of people not vote. Imagine the impact if even a fraction of them turned out – we could flip entire districts and even the state.

The strategic division of Memphis and Shelby County aims to dilute Democratic influence. By splitting the largest Black city in the South into thirds, elected officials may no longer prioritize our voices. It's crucial we vote unified to reclaim our power.

Faith leaders have been woefully absent from the front lines of the social justice movement. For every time I should have been present and was absent, I am sorry. We need to step up and acknowledge the truth: God is a just God, and silence is not an option.

Tennessee lawmakers have redrawn the state's congressional map, fracturing the historically Black District 9 centered in Memphis. This shift, following Supreme Court decisions weakening the Voting Rights Act, dilutes the collective strength of the Black vote. It's a call for discipline, education, and action to counter diminished political influence.

Every dollar in the American economy is stained with blood, including your own savings and 401k. Before the system consumes you, remember Jesus's call to follow him.
