Memphis Fellows At 2pc The Memphis Fellows program is a nine-month Christian leadership development training program and internship for recent college graduates.

The Memphis Fellows Program is a nine-month leadership development and training program for young adults recently out of college or graduate school. Young men and women from all walks of life come together to engage in a program to foster a Christ-centered view of knowledge, culture, work, and life. Fellows receive theological training through Second Presbyterian Church and Reformed Theological Se

minary, participate in seminars with Christian scholars and community leaders, and enjoy one-on-one mentoring relationships with mature Christian men and women. Fellows apply their training as they minister in the community, work in an internship, and interact/live with a host family from the church. Fellows are embraced by the congregation of Second Presbyterian Church and experience the fullness of life in the local church.

Meet Bella Tavernari! ⚽️🏓

Bella grew up in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by beautiful white-sand beaches and plenty of opportunities to spot dolphins, sea turtles, and stingrays from the vintage trolley. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, where she majored in Integrated Business and earned a certificate in Human Resources.

During her three years at UCF, Bella stayed busy as a member of the women’s soccer club team and as a ministry soccer coach. She has played competitive soccer for more than nine years and has been hooked on pickleball for the past two years.

Outside of school, Bella loves traveling, having visited Jamaica, Cozumel, and Canada, mostly by cruise. She enjoys puzzling, reading, hiking, and exploring new places where she can slow down and enjoy nature. She also loves sushi and is always up for trying new and unique foods, especially Asian cuisine. And while her given name is Isabella, she prefers to go by Bella—a nickname given to her by her club soccer coach after his daughter.

As a Memphis Fellow, Bella is excited to step into a new environment, build relationships with her coworkers, host family, and community, and grow in her faith. She is especially eager to develop a consistent rhythm of daily prayer and time in God’s Word while building relationships that encourage her to grow closer to Christ.

In the future Bella dreams of working with a human trafficking organization and hopes to one day lead a team that equips and educates professionals in the workplace to make a difference in this important area.  We look forward to welcoming Bella to Memphis as a Memphis Fellow.

🎶 Meet Charles Boyd! 🎷

Charles grew up in Germantown, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Music, focusing on Recording Technology. During college, he played saxophone with the Mighty Sound of the South, traveling all over the country with the Memphis marching band—including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, and more!

Charles loves complicated board games, competitive video games, disc golf, camping, movies, and music. He is also an Eagle Scout and loves to cook! Some of his favorite foods include Gibson’s Donuts, Commissary barbecue, and a good bowl of cereal. 🍩🥩🥣

This summer, Charles spent six weeks on a mission trip to South Africa, an experience that deepened his love for people and serving others.

As a Fellow, Charles is especially looking forward to getting to know his host family and working in a job related to his field of study. In the future, he would love to spend part of his career traveling as an audio engineer with a band or music group.

Charles also dreams of having a home where he can regularly welcome friends and coworkers, create a place of community, and share the love of Christ with those around him. ❤️

Meet Garrett Heady 🎶🚗

Garrett Heady grew up in Cordova and recently moved to Collierville. He studied Choral Music Education at the University of Memphis, where he was involved in Chamber Choir, Opera Chorus, TigerChor, and University Singers. During his senior year, he also got involved with Campus Outreach, where he developed lifelong friendships and experienced significant spiritual growth.

A talented choral composer, Garrett was blessed with the opportunity to put on a concert featuring all of his original works in 2022. His friends generously volunteered their time and talents to help make a dream he had carried for four years become a reality. 🎼

He also has a love for working on cars—although that passion wasn’t exactly by choice! During his freshman year of college, he got tired of repeatedly taking his car to the mechanic and decided to figure things out himself. He eventually discovered that a melted air-intake part was the culprit. Now, his family gets their cars fixed for cheap! 🔧

This summer during Orlando Project, Garrett worked at Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs alongside two members of his discipleship group. One of the perks of working on Disney property? Free admission to the parks! He and his friends took full advantage and visited the parks four times. 🏰

As a Fellow, Garrett is looking forward to getting his bearings in this new stage of life and learning what it looks like to live on mission in the workplace. He is also excited to see another example of a God-centered marriage and, most of all, to experience the Fellows program alongside both old friends and new ones.

Looking ahead, Garrett hopes to compose a large-scale work for choir and orchestra, with 30–45 minute sections to be performed throughout Holy Week. He plans to begin with pieces for Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. 🎶✝️

We’re so excited to have Garrett as part of this year’s Fellows!

Meet Jordan King! ⚽️

Jordan grew up in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. While in college, she played DII women’s soccer, worked in the college wellness center, served as a Biology TA, and was a President’s Ambassador.

This summer Jordan spent five weeks in Guadalajara, Mexico, on a missions trip. She loves outdoor sports and activities. She’s also always up for some good Italian or Asian food! 🍝🥢

As a Memphis Fellow, Jordan is looking forward to building a strong post-grad community, learning how to be a light in the workplace, and growing in her relationship with God through Friday classes and retreats.

In the future, Jordan hopes to become a physician assistant specializing in sports medicine, serve through medical missions or ministry, and even hopes one day to write a book! 📖

We are excited to welcome Jordan to Memphis and 2PC as a 2027 Memphis Fellows! 💙

Meet Brody Melton! 🎉

Brody grew up in Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education. During college, he was involved in Campus Outreach, choir, opera, musical theatre, pickleball, line dancing, and worship at church. He even had the opportunity to travel to Greece for a week and a half for a choral exchange with universities there! 🇬🇷🎶

Brody spent two summers working at SeaWorld, makes a mean buffalo chicken dip, and loves teaching line dancing. 🤠 He also loves competition and games of just about any kind!

As he transitions into the workforce, Brody is excited to learn more about world missions, discover new ways to serve Memphis, and grow deeper in his faith. He’s excited to spend this year exploring God’s calling and discovering what ministry as a career could look like in his life.

We’re excited to have Brody as part of the 2027 Memphis Fellows! 🙌

☕🎶 Meet Edlyn Jarquin!

Edlyn grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education. She is a first-generation American, with her mom from El Salvador and her dad from Nicaragua, and she is fluent in Spanish!

Edlyn loves all things coffee—from visiting local coffee shops and trying different brewing methods to learning about the entire coffee-making process. ☕ She also loves music, reading, movies, trying new foods, cooking and baking new recipes, and, most importantly, hosting and spending quality time with friends and family.

This summer, Edlyn had the incredible opportunity to travel to South Africa with a team from 2PC, where she served alongside Campus Outreach at their annual student conference. She loved experiencing a different culture and seeing what the Lord is doing on the other side of the world! 🌍

Edlyn is looking forward to serving and giving back to the city of Memphis while investing deeply in community with her fellow Fellows, her host family, and 2PC.

Welcome Edlyn to the 2027 Memphis Fellows class! 💙

Meet Jahvon Wicks!

Jahvon grew up right here in Collierville, TN, and is excited to be back in Memphis! He graduated from the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and a collateral in Business Analytics.

During college, Jahvon was involved with Campus Outreach, RUFI, Thrive, and intramural sports. He’s spent the last two summers in Orlando participating in a discipleship program, and this summer he’s back in Memphis working—and very glad to be home!

When he’s not working, he enjoys playing “Jbiird” on Xbox 🎮, watching Over the Hedge, Madagascar, and Shrek, as well as anime shows and documentaries. He’s a big fan of the Miami Dolphins and all University of Tennessee sports, and he loves staying active through running, soccer, and pickleball.

Jahvon is excited about growing in his faith and hopes to lead more of his friends to Christ during his time in Memphis. He also hopes to learn more about Memphis by visiting historical sites.

We’re so excited to have you with us, Jahvon!

The countdown to the 2027 Memphis Fellows begins! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing the incredible people who will make up this year’s Fellows class. First up is Zoe Kilimann!

Zoe grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and recently graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a major in Human Services and a minor in Sociology.

When she’s not studying or serving others, you’ll probably find her hunting for treasures at thrift stores, keeping her plants alive, cheering on a sporting event, making something crafty, or convincing people to play just one more card game. More than anything, though, Zoe loves people.

As a new Memphian, she’s looking forward to experiencing authentic Memphis barbecue and visiting the National Civil Rights Museum. Long-term, she hopes to serve marginalized communities with the radical, Christ-like love of Jesus. She also dreams of becoming a mom someday and backpacking across Europe.

Service runs in the family—Zoe is one of four siblings who have participated in Fellows programs, including her brother, Lukas, who was a Memphis Fellow. We are glad Zoe Chose901!
