The truth is, becoming more informed about Jesus is not the same thing as becoming more like Jesus.

We live in a culture that rewards knowledge, visibility, and constant output. You can learn the right language, build the right platform, lead the right conversations — and still avoid the deeper work God wants to do in your heart. Spiritual formation is deeper than information accumulation.

Take a moment to reflect on this question today: is your life actually being transformed or simply becoming more religiously informed?

The Christians who leave the deepest impact are rarely the ones chasing spiritual hype.

More often, they’re the ones quietly surrendering to God day after day.

Holiness may not feel dramatic, but it shapes lives, churches, and ministries that endure.

There are moments when the global church reminds us what faith actually looks like.

Not polished. Not comfortable. Not dependent on abundance.

Just deep trust in Jesus. It is easy to believe God is "enough" when our cupboards are full and our lights are on. But the global church often shows us a different kind of beauty — a faith that doesn't just survive hardship but is actually forged by it.

We’ve been reflecting on the incredible resilience of believers in places like Havana, Cuba. In the face of systemic neglect and material lack, their "posture remains simple and unwavering: No problem! God's got it!" 🇨🇺🙌

Spiritual vitality is not built on convenience, resources, or stability. It’s the realization that when you have nothing left but Jesus, you discover He truly is all you need. And that is a reminder we desperately need to recover in the West.

How has a season of "lack" in your life actually brought you closer to God? We’d love to hear your reflections below. 👇

In 1873, two bishops from rival churches — one from the North, one from the South — both crossed into Mexico with the same gospel. That unlikely beginning became the Iglesia Metodista de México.

World Methodist Evangelism was honored to partner with the Methodist Church of Mexico in providing evangelism training in Tijuana in 2017.

This week, we're praying for our brothers and sisters in Mexico. Will you join us?

🇲🇽 Are you a member of the Methodist Church of Mexico? We want to celebrate with you! Tell us which city or congregation you belong to in the comments.
👥 Know someone in Mexico? Tag them below so they know our global community is lifting them up this week!

Lasting ministry is sustained by holiness, not hype.

It’s the daily surrender of self-will.
It’s openness to the Spirit’s leading.
It’s trusting God enough to obey when we don’t fully understand where He’s leading us.
And it’s allowing Christ to shape us deeply enough that our lives actually begin to look different and we look a little bit more like Jesus every single day.

There’s a reason certain spiritual classics keep resurfacing generation after generation.

Not because they’re easy.
Not because they’re trendy.
But because they confront the parts of us modern life keeps distracting.

One of the challenges facing the church today isn’t lack of information — it’s lack of depth. We are over-informed and spiritually exhausted. And sometimes the voices that help us most are the ones that have been speaking for centuries.

This reflection on John Wesley, The Imitation of Christ, and the pursuit of wholehearted devotion is a timely reminder that deep discipleship has never happened accidentally.

Highly recommend reading this one slowly. Comment 'book' below and I’ll send David Juliano's "The Christian Pattern (Part 1)" article straight to your inbox or check out the link in bio.
