Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. 🇺🇸

At SDCC, we pause to remember the courage, service, and legacy of those who gave their lives in defense of freedom. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends, may we also reflect with gratitude, pray for the families of fallen heroes, and continue to stand united in faith, hope, and love.

Happy Memorial Day from SDCC

HERE IS A SUMMARY OF THE LESSON..

The End of the Law
Sunday School Lesson Summary
📖 Romans 10:1–13

In Romans 10:1–13, the Apostle Paul the Apostle expresses his deep desire for Israel to be saved. He acknowledges that they have zeal for God, but their zeal is not based on true knowledge. Instead of accepting God’s righteousness through faith, they attempted to establish righteousness through works and obedience to the Law.

Paul teaches that Christ is “the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth” (Romans 10:4). This means that Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the Law, making salvation available through faith rather than human effort. No one can earn salvation by works; it is received by believing in Jesus Christ.
Paul contrasts righteousness by the Law with righteousness by faith. The Law required perfect obedience, but faith says salvation is near and accessible. A person does not have to perform impossible works to reach God. Instead, salvation comes through confessing Jesus as Lord and believing that God raised Him from the dead.

📖 Key Truth:Salvation is not achieved by works, rituals, or religious performance—it comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9 emphasizes two important actions:
* Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead
* Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
When a person truly believes, they are justified and saved. Paul also makes it clear that salvation is available to everyone—Jew and Gentile alike. God shows no favoritism; whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Lesson Highlights
* Israel had zeal without spiritual understanding
* Christ fulfilled the Law
* Righteousness comes by faith, not works
* Salvation is available to all people
* Confession and belief are essential to salvation
* Anyone who calls upon the Lord can be saved
Life Application
Believers must place complete trust in Jesus Christ rather than relying on religious works, traditions, or personal goodness. Faith in Christ brings salvation, peace with God, and assurance of eternal life. Christians are also encouraged to share the message of salvation with others so they too may believe and call upon the Lord.

“The Second Adam”
Romans 5:12–21

Summary:

In this passage, the Apostle Paul reveals a divine contrast between two men—Adam and Jesus Christ—and the eternal impact of their actions.

Through Adam, sin entered the world. With sin came death, separation, and a fallen nature that passed to all humanity. Adam represents disobedience, and because of him, many were made sinners.

But through Jesus Christ—the Second Adam—everything changed.

Where Adam brought:
➡️ Sin
➡️ Condemnation
➡️ Death

Jesus brought:
➡️ Grace
➡️ Righteousness
➡️ Life

Jesus did not just reverse the curse—He exceeded it.
His obedience on the cross released an overflow of grace that is greater than any sin ever committed.

📌 Key Revelation:
Grace is not equal to sin—it is GREATER.
Where sin increased, grace abounded much more.

Because of Jesus:
💡We are no longer bound by Adam’s failure
💡We are justified (made right with God)
💡We have access to reign in life through Christ

This teaching reminds us that we are not defined by the first Adam…
🔥 We are redeemed, restored, and empowered by the Second Adam.

Declaration:

I am no longer under condemnation.
I walk in righteousness through Jesus Christ.
Grace abounds in my life, and I reign in life as one justified by faith.
I am aligned with the Second Adam—Jesus Christ—and I live in His victory!

Let Talk:

Which truth stood out to you most today—
👉 The power of grace,
👉 The gift of righteousness, or
👉 Reigning in life through Christ?

Sunday School Lesson Summary-

“God’s Righteous Judgment”
Romans 2:1-16

In this passage, the Apostle Paul the Apostle confronts a dangerous mindset—judging others while committing the same sins. He makes it clear that self-righteousness does not excuse sin. When we point fingers at others but ignore our own wrongdoing, we condemn ourselves.
