The Fellowship of Yggdrasil strives to educate the community about Heathenry/Asatru/The Germanic Gods through rituals, events, and workshops. We welcome all, whatever their religious or ancestral background, physical ability, gender identity or sexual orientation, who wish a relationship with our Deities and spirits. The Fellowship of Yggdrasil expects that all participants in our activities will

treat each other with respect and love. Participation in our activities and events does not require formal membership, and none of our activities, events, or groups exclude involvement in other organizations. The Fellowship of Yggdrasil is also a signee of the Declaration of Deeds.

Reciprocity has always been one of the quiet pillars of magical practice, even when we don’t name it directly. It’s woven into the way we speak about energy, intention, and relationship. It’s present in the way we talk about offerings, gratitude, and the exchange between the seen and unseen. But in modern life – especially in a world shaped by digital communities, parasocial relationships, and the constant hum of online interaction – the ethics of reciprocity have become more complicated. The old ways of giving and receiving haven’t disappeared, but they’ve been stretched, reshaped, and sometimes distorted by the pace and structure of contemporary life.

I was afraid the pigs would look terrible while I was making them. They actually turned out cute, and no one wanted to sacrifice them. We did anyway.

Zeus’s Law, also known as xenia, is a tenant of many religions and one of the core concepts of The Odyssey. Zeus’s law refers to the code of hospitality, reciprocity, and the protection of strangers. This code of hospitality shows up in many places including holy texts from various religions to modern geopolitics. And we would do well to remember it, unless the modern world suffers the same fate as Odysseus.
