Reopening Guidelines for Lighthouse of Hope
On May 28, 2020 Governor JD Pritzker issued the Illinois Public Health “COVID-19 Guidance for Places of Worship and Providers of Religious Services.” This document provides guidance to support the safest possible environment for church leaders, servers, congregants and visitors. The following Guidelines for Lighthouse of Hope are based on those recommendations.
People in the following categories may have more severe physical complications should they contract the Covid19 virus. Though we will not turn anyone away from attending, we recommend continuation of online services as the safest option for these members:
People 65 years and older.
People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility
People of any age with underlying medical conditions that but are not limited to:
People with chronic lung disease or severe asthma
People who have serious heart conditions
People who are immunocompromised
People with diabetes, chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis, and/or liver disease.

Re-opening for services:

At Lighthouse we have re-arranged the seating so as to practice social distancing. Families that live together may sit together and there will be seating available for any size family. All seating arrangements will be set up at least 6 feet away from other seats, whether they be single seats, seating for families of 2, 3, 4 or 5. There will be guidelines for entering and exiting the building, as well as use of restrooms. Social distancing will be maintained at all times.

The following guidelines will be in place during services:
The facility will be sanitized before and after every service or building use
We encourage all our members and guests to use proper face coverings.
Everyone will be screened for temperature prior to entering the sanctuary
Everyone entering and exiting the building will be given hand sanitizer.

There will be one-way traffic patterns throughout the building
We will have servers hold open doors to limit touching of surfaces.
For now there will be no physical contact in the congregation
For now there will be no children’s services. Everyone will meet in the sanctuary and enjoy service as a family.

There will be no social gathering after services.
Restrooms are available only on the first floor. Only one person at a time will be allowed in the restroom. It will be sanitized after every use. If there is a line for the restroom, social distancing will be practiced.

We will not provide pens for offering envelopes. Please bring your own pen.
We encourage the use of online giving as many have been already doing. When offering is received, ushers will wear face masks and gloves.

After the Service
We will dismiss by rows to insure social distancing. Please wait for instructions to be given.
