Hello All!

Due to the severe winter weather forecast for this weekend, we have decided to cancel the worship service and Eating Sunday. Please stay safe and warm.

Pastor Mike will post a message on the Church page by 10:45 a.m. Sunday morning.

We look forward to seeing everyone next month, on Sunday, Feb. 1.

It is hard to believe that Rev. Dr. Ken Crawford will conclude his July sermon series this Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Melissa Christian Church. We are grateful to Ken for filling the pulpit during Pastor Mike's absence. Here is Ken's preview for this Sunday's message. Don't forget, it's Salad Eating Sunday!

WEEK 4: “Wise and Working: Intellectual & Occupational Flourishing”
Texts: Genesis 2:15; Romans 12:1–2; Colossians 3:23–24
Theme: Our work and wisdom matter. We are stewards of the world and of our
influence.
Key Ideas:
● God gave humans the task of cultivating the garden—work is sacred.
● Loving God with our minds means curiosity, discernment, and formation.
● Whatever we do— as students, workers, parents, volunteers—is Kingdom work.
Our minds and our work matter deeply to God. In the garden, humanity was given the
holy task of cultivation—work that reflects God’s creativity and purpose. Intellectual
flourishing involves curiosity, discernment, and the ongoing renewal of our minds.
Loving God with our intellect means seeking wisdom and understanding, allowing our
thinking to be shaped by the Spirit. Likewise, whatever we do—whether as students,
workers, parents, caregivers, or volunteers—is Kingdom work when done with intention
and love. We are stewards of both our gifts and our influence, and through our labor
and learning, we participate in the ongoing work of God’s renewing creation.

Have a blessed weekend!

We look forward to again welcoming the Reverend Dr. Ken Crawford to the pulpit on Sunday, July 13. He will continue his sermon series, "Flourishig in the Garden of God," with a message titled "Rooted & Grounded: Spiritual & Physical Flourishing ."

Ken reflected on his time last week saying,
"Friends-
I hope this finds you well. Thank you again for the blessing that you are and the double blessing of spending time with you in worship this summer. We seek wholeness and flourishing for ourselves and our beloveds. We remember the call to seek it for all people, both in the scriptures, and in our nation’s founding."

Worship begins at 10:45 a.m. and all are welcome! We look forward to seeing and welcoming you!
