Dallas Christian Church

Dallas Christian Church Independent Christian Church located in Melcher-Dallas, IA. Worship Services: Sunday at 10am.

Core Beliefs of Dallas Christian Church

JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus to be–
-The eternal Word who with God "in the beginning"(John 1:1)
-The Creator of all that exists (John 1:3; Col. 1:15-17)
-The only source of salvation (Acts 4:12)
-God's final revelation to us (Heb. 1:1,2)
-The atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 2:2: Heb. 9:12)

THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Scriptures are:
-The inspired

Word of God (2 Pt. 1:20; 2 Tim. 3:16)
-Without error as they were originally written.
-The final word on what we are to accept as the truth of God; the sole authority for faith and practice (Rom. 4:3; Gal. 4:3; Matt. 7:24; 24:35)

THE CHURCH
We believe the Church:
-Was established by Jesus Christ (Matt. 16:18)
-Had been central to God's eternal plan from the beginning (Eph. 3:8–11)
-Exists for God's glory (Eph. 3:21)
-Is the body of Christ here on earth (Eph. 1:22)
-Is made up of those who have been baptized into Jesus Christ (Acts 2:47)

SALVATION
We believe:
-That the only source of salvation is through Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12)
-That salvation is by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8)
-That it is the gift of God to all who, in obedience to Jesus, are baptized for the remission of their sins. (Matt. 28:19; Mk. 16:15–16; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Rom. 6:4; Gal. 3:26–27; 1 Peter 3:21)

Because of the meaning of the word "baptizo" (Greek for 'to immerse, plunge, or dip) and because of the New Testament description of baptism (Rom. 6:4), we practice baptism by immersion. THE LORD'S SUPPER
-As baptism for the remission of sins is our profession of faith at the beginning of our spiritual journey (Gal. 3:26–27), even so, the participation in the Lord's Supper is our profession of faith throughout our spiritual journey (1 Cor. 11:26).
-We observe the Lord's Supper each Sunday because the first Christians, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and apostles, "continued steadfastly in the breaking of bread" (Acts 2:42). The Lord's Supper, the breaking of bread, appears to be the purpose of their coming together (Acts 20:7).

This Christmas allow yourself to reflect from the perspective of the shepherds! The shepherds were looked down on by everyone else. They had a dirty, thankless job and no one considered them worth much.. Yet God chose to reveal the greatest gift of all – the coming of the Messiah to the lowly shepherds!

Come and join us for a wonderful Christmas program led by our Children’s Ministry and hear the excitement in the voices of the shepherds as they share what happened that night in Bethlehem!

Program practices will be held during children’s church on November 30, December 7 and December 14! If you would like your child to participate, please ensure they make it for program practices!

The program will be held on December 21st at 10am ⭐️
