Nice to see an online magazine re-post an article about “holy discontent”, which I wrote before Build Hope: 40 Days with Nehemiah was published:

Let God harness your holy discontent. May God use you to cultivate holy discontent in others.

In obedience to our Lord to love our neighbors, we seek to understand root causes of injustice as we try to respond to suffering in a generous, wise, and Spirit-led manner—sometimes advocating change in government policies.

Because every member of Jesus’ family is to be equipped to minister to those who’ve suffered loss, Pastor Michael teaches five aspects of healthy, help-full ministry.

Christians shouldn’t try to explain why God allows suffering. Instead we take comfort in scriptures like 2 Corinthians 4:7-18, through which we glimpse the mystery of Holy Spirit’s transformative presence. After Grieving Authentically we have the strength to Go On With Life, and ultimately Grow ...

In this first message in the series “Coping with Suffering,” Pastor Michael Carey names the bad “answers” that religious people sometimes offer when those who suffer question their faith. Instead of “explanations,” we have news to share!

In John 14 & 16, Jesus promised his disciples that they would not be "orphans" when he departed from earth, but that his Father would send the Holy Spirit to be their Advocate--a timeless truth teller to preserve his teaching and a real-time guidance counselor who would supply spiritual intelligence...

Seven women and one apostle watched Jesus die from a distance (Matthew 27:65-65, Luke 23:26-31). They eye-witnessed God's sacrificial love and launched a movement to embody sacrificial love joyfully "outside the camp-us" (Hebrews 13:11-13).

This Sunday/Nov 21 we're gathering with new, "wild" friends. How cool and encouraging--to praise God with other believers, to learn about other micro-churches, then pray over our future connection. Then we get to eat lunch! (Please communicate with Lynn/321-591-6683 if you can bring food, etc).

Plan to arrive by 10:30am at Wickham Park Pavilion #4 (Enter from Parkway Drive, turn right at the stop sign, and follow the loop till you see #4 on the left--it's well-marked). We've rented a spacious pavilion with electric outlets (helpful for a hotplate or crockpot). And yes, the bathroom's nearby:-)

At least two other house churches will join us. Melbourne House Church formed last summer, it's the Thompsons' micro-church on alternating Sundays. Brevard Organic Church has met for a decade. While Church in the Wild is a family of micro-churches (with a house church (WildLife), missional communities, and discipleship groups) we share these believers' passion for relational, non-institutional Chrisitanity.

Call or text me if you need more information (321-795-5370). We've been praying for this opportunity. It will be fun and inspirational.
