Another 5th Sunday Fellowship to remember…

Jesus turns himself in to be arrested. He was not a mere victim - he willingly gave himself up for his disciples both in John 18 and shortly after as he went to the cross.

Jesus is our Sovereign Redeemer. He had complete authority over every detail of his crucifixion. How amazing it is that Jesus would lately down his life willingly for sinners like you and I!

With bittersweetness, yet confidence in the Lord, we sent off Gracie and Nathan Fernandez to their new home in Knoxville, TN, with a night of prayer over them and singing together as a church. These two are so loved and have been such a blessing from the Lord to RLC.

Continue to pray that they will be a blessing to the church they will call home in Knoxville, and that the Lord will use them for the building up of his Body. Also pray that they will settle in quickly.

They are already missed!

How often do you think about the fact that Jesus himself prays for you?

In John 17, we see Jesus praying to the Father for his disciples - for their unity with one another, their joy and perseverance through suffering, and their witness to a lost world. Now, Hebrews 7:25 tells us that Jesus “lives to make intercession” for those who have drawn near to him.

We can have profound peace in knowing that Jesus continues to intercede for us - our Great High Priest before a holy, Heavenly Father. The Father hears the perfect prayers of his beloved Son on our behalf.

Did you know that Jesus prays for your joy? In John 17:13, Jesus’ high priestly prayer is recorded where he asks the Father for his joy to be fulfilled in us.

What a truly amazing reality that we have daily access to joy - not worldly joy, but the joy of Jesus himself that is rooted in relational unity with the Father.

Our Gospel Care Training for our leaders was a blast. We loved being able to do this event with our sister church in Winter Garden,

These folks gave up hours of their day to be able to grow in care - care for others that is rooted in and centered around the gospel. We cannot wait to see how God continues to use this investment in our leaders to continue strengthening our churches.

👉🏼 If you were at our family meeting on Sunday, you would know that we have been so humbled by God’s faithfulness to RLC in several specific ways over the past few weeks.

Through the generosity of another church, Harbor City Baptist, we have inherited a beautiful grand piano and almost 2x what we had in our funds before this week.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude, both to HCB, which has sadly closed its doors for the last time as a church, and to the Lord - who is sovereignly working over all things for his glory and the good of his people.

We pray for God to greatly bless and provide for the folks from Harbor City Baptist. We also pray that God would help us to use the resources they gave us for the building up of His kingdom. Please pray with us!
