Greetings to you from the Meeker Community Center,
It has and continues to be our pleasure to serve our community in various capacities!
This is a list of some of the ways that we service our beloved community:
1. Red Cross Shelter-In the event of an emergency we have the ability to house those that
are displaced due to some weather event or unforeseen circumstance.
2. Meeting place for various groups such as: Senior Citizens Group, 4-H groups, and some
sports groups when the need has arisen.
3. Events such as the Annual Trustees Dinner, Halloween Night for the local children,
Annual Hog Roast, Ice Cream Social, Movie Nights and others are held at the
Community Center.
4. Funerals and Celebrations of Life are also some of the events that we have hosted.
Many of the dinners are provided for the families, with no expectation of a cost attached.
5. Weddings, showers (baby and wedding), family reunions, holiday get togethers and
other events are hosted as well.
6. Community Garden is available to the community to share produce to those who might
be interested.
There are numerous other ways that this facility has been utilized over the years. We are a
501-3C non-profit. What that means is we operate solely off of donations, and/or rentals.
As you might imagine it costs money to operate this facility so that it is available to the
public.
The Community Center has 5 furnaces which provides heat in the winter and air
conditioning in the summer. One has been replaced in the last 8 years. The other 4 have
not been replaced in 37 years! We have two that are in dire need of replacement. The
replacement cost is $30,000! This is, of course, is an astronomical amount of money for us
to bear! We trust that the money will be provided as we have seen this happen over and
over when a need has arisen!
As mentioned, we do operate with donations and rentals. We are reaching out to our
amazing community for help. We will be hosting some upcoming fundraisers so watch on
Facebook for those events. If you feel led to team up with us we would be forever grateful
as we work with one another to bring community together.
If you would like to send a donation toward our cause you may do so at:
Meeker Community Center

Thank you for continuing to support us as we strive to be a place where community comes
together!
Blessings,
The Meeker Community Center
