Sunday we will continue our sermon series called Lessons In Leadership. This week we will look at a subject many people try to avoid if possible, conflict. Our gospel selection from Matthew offers a guide towards reconciliation. We will be reminded that when we navigate conflicts, we do not do this alone, because God is with us. Join us at 9:30 am in our community hall. We will celebrate communion during worship, and we offer an open table, meaning that everyone is welcome, so come join us!

This Sunday's sermon is called "Acceptance". We will look into what 2 separate passages say about our resistance to God when he calls on us. It seems like for most people, when God calls, our response is to figure out why we can't or won't say yes to what it is we are being asked to do and or lead. When we do say yes to God, we learn to lean on Him, and our faith communities to fulfill our shared mission. Join us this Sunday, August 30 at 9:30 am in our outdoor pavilion (weather permitting).

Please be in prayer to support those who were affected by the recent flooding.

Dear Beloved People of the Ohio Episcopal Area,

Severe flooding across Central Ohio has caused widespread damage and disruption, displacing families and threatening homes and livelihoods. Our hearts are with all who have been affected.

I invite every congregation across East and West Ohio to respond with prayer and compassionate action. Please pray for those in danger, for first responders, and for all providing shelter, food, medical care, and essential assistance.

The work of recovery will require sustained cooperation. I encourage our churches to care for their neighbors, remain connected with district and conference leaders, and participate in coordinated relief efforts as opportunities arise.

No congregation or community should face this crisis alone. Through our prayers, generosity, service, and faithful partnership, may we embody Christ’s healing presence.

God of mercy and refuge, protect those in danger, comfort those who have suffered loss, and strengthen all who serve. Gather us as one body so that, through our loving action, hope may rise and communities may be restored. In Jesus Christ’s name.

Amen.

In Christ’s compassion and hope,

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung
Ohio Episcopal Area, The United Methodist Church

This week we begin a new sermon series called Lessons In Leadership. In this we will look at how we are to live in community as a witness to our faith as we work to shape the body of Christ we work to be. This Sunday (8/23) the sermon is called Power. In this we will look at some unconventional leaders that used gifts they were given to work for truth. Join us at 9:30 am in- person as we look for ways we can us our power to faithfully work for God's purposes.

We are better together than divided... It's a saying most of us have heard from time to time, and it's true! Individually we are not able to complete things we can when we are together. Tomorrow morning we will finish up our Praise break sermon series as we look into Psalm 133 in our sermon titled Unity of Praise. When we gather for worship, we offer God our praise. This is done through corporate singing, and prayer as these acts help to unify us together. Join us at 9:30 am!
We are having our Blessing of the Backpacks during worship, so if you have a student of any age, or you are a teacher/ administrator/ staff person, etc... bring your backpack/ planner, etc and receive a blessing for the upcoming school year!
