We wrapped up a great semester of learning by reviewing all our lessons this week.

What did we learn this semester?
We learned about the parables and the miracles Jesus performed and wrapped up with the healings Jesus did, even bringing people back to life.

What is something your kiddo remembers from Sunday school this semester?

Sunday school is over until fall!
We hope you have a wonderful, safe summer but keep learning about God and all the wonderful things Jesus has done!

As fathers and men leading our homes, we should help our children see that faith does not mean we always understand God’s timing, but that we trust the One who holds life in His hands. Christ may not answer according to our schedule, but He is never absent from the suffering of His people, and all who trust in Him will one day share in the resurrection life He alone can give.

A rich covenantal connection in this passage is Jesus standing outside the tomb and calling Lazarus forth by His word alone. In the Old Testament, God’s word is repeatedly shown as the power that creates life from death and order from chaos (Genesis 1; Ezekiel 37). Here, Jesus does what only Yahweh does—He speaks, and the dead obey. It is a profound revelation that the covenant God of Israel is present in the flesh. There is also a beautiful new covenant picture in the “grave clothes” being removed: Lazarus comes out alive, but still partially bound, whereas Christ will later leave His grave clothes behind entirely, never to die again.

This Sunday is our fun review week before we’re done for the summer!

Our Call to Worship was from Psalm 134

It says:
“Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord! 2 Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord! 3 May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth!”

Psalm 134 is a brief song of worship calling God’s servants to bless the Lord continually, even through the night. The psalm ends with a blessing from Zion, reminding God’s people that the Creator of heaven and earth graciously blesses those who gather to worship and serve Him faithfully.

Our Assurance of Pardon was from Psalm 107:1-3

It says:
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble 3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.”

This passage reminds us, God’s redeemed people, to give thanks for His steadfast love, celebrating how He has gathered and rescued them.

This week in Sunday school, our kids continued to learn about Jesus’s interactions with those who are unclean. Last week we learned about the Gentile that was demon possessed. This week these are Jewish people who were unclean; reminding us that unclean is a state of the heart and not race.

When the Bible repeats itself, it’s because it’s something very important.

Just like last week, instead of Jesus becoming defiled as he touched this woman and girl, His holiness reverses the flow—uncleanness is overcome, and life is restored. That’s a powerful picture of the new covenant reality: in Christ, holiness is no longer something we guard by separation, but something He brings to us by grace. It’s the same pattern fulfilled ultimately in the gospel—He takes our uncleanness, and we receive His righteousness.

In both accounts, faith is not presented as a work that earns healing, but as the empty hand that receives from Christ. For those of us leading our families, the lesson is clear: we bring our needs, our fears, and our children to Jesus, trusting that whether He grants immediate relief or calls us to wait, He is the sovereign Lord who has conquered sin and death and will one day make all things new.

No Sunday School this week! Plan to join us for lunch after the service as we get to know each other better!
