MCYG is excited to introduce Shawn Nowell as our new director!🎉

With more than 18 years of experience working with youth, we are confident he will contribute significantly to the Mediapolis Community Youth Group's mission of raising youth in our community to become devoted followers of Christ🙌

Some fun facts about Shawn:
💍 He's been married to his wife, Jenna for 16 years (she works at the Mepo vet clinic!🐾)
👪 He has a 14 year old son, 13 year old daughter, and a 3 year old daughter
🏓 He teaches pickleball at SCC
🌮 His favorite place to eat is Taco Bell
🏈 He's a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings
⛺ He enjoys camping and loves sitting by the fire
📍 He was born in Florida but raised in small town central Iowa (Oskaloosa and Keota)

Our 2026 food pantry scavenger hunt was a HUGE success—our biggest haul yet! The food pantry has been once again been stocked with hundreds of canned, boxed, and paper goods all thanks to the generosity of YOU—the Mediapolis community. We pray these donations bless the individuals and families that receive them🙏

📣‼️ ANNUAL FOOD PANTRY SCAVENGER HUNT‼️📣

Wednesday, May 20th from 6:30-8PM MCYG students will be going door to door in Mediapolis in search of items for our local Food Pantry.

While any donations are welcome, the food pantry has a particular need for the following items:
🍰 Cake mixes
🥚 Egg noodles
🍪 Prepackaged cookies
🍅 Ketchup
🥞 Pancake mixes
🍁 Syrup
🧻 Toilet paper
🫗 Paper towels
🧺 Detergent

Please keep an eye out for us that evening and have your items ready so we can visit as many houses as possible🏘 Feel free to message us to ensure we stop by your home. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you soon!😁
