The Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County (UUCDC) brings together a wide diversity of beliefs and backgrounds sharing our religious journeys and honoring the differences we bring to our spiritual search. We're not all

on the same path, nor do we expect to arrive at the same destination. We have chosen to live faithfully and honestly according to our most deeply held values and principles. UUCDC is a place where everyone's spirituality and individual beliefs are held sacred. If you are looking for a new faith community, we may be the community you're looking for! Have you been longing for a religious home where you will be welcomed and included, regardless of your race, gender, sexual orientation, age or family status? UUCDC is a "Welcoming Congregation" that seeks to celebrate and support the lives, the relationships, and contributions of its le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual members and friends. We affirm and promote full participation of everyone in the life of our congregation and our church community. If you are longing for a peaceful and loving religious home, you may find it here with us. Do you seek an outstanding church school program where your children and youth can have fun, ask questions openly and experience individual growth within a nurturing community? We have a quality cooperative Lifespan Religious Education Programming that continues to embrace and nourish our children, our youth and our adults. Together we work to build a better world by inspiring children and adults to follow the principles of our faith as they travel on their spiritual journeys. We encourage everyone to live their faith - offering opportunities to become involved in all aspects of church life and the community beyond. If you are looking for a church community where your family can explore life’s mysteries and celebrate together and be involved, you and your family will feel at home with us. Visit us on a Sunday and attend a worship service in our beautiful, light-filled sanctuary. Bring your family with you. Be sure to stay and enjoy our Coffee Hour. Ask a lot of questions. Walk around our building and grounds. Pick up a handful of brochures and a newsletter. Visit with us several times and really get to know us. Join us Sunday, April 26th at 12:15 for Lunch & Learn: Democracy Then, Now and Ahead. As we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary, we have invited our own John Davies and Mijuel Johnson from The Black Journey for a conversation on the ongoing challenges for American democracy and historical truth-telling. One focus of discussion will be the history of the President’s House in Philadelphia and the current battle over the Independence Mall displays telling the story of enslaved Africans who worked there when George Washington lived there. These displays were removed by federal executive action in late January and then partially restored by a judge’s order a month later. Lunch will be provided, so RSVP by emailing [email protected] and state "Lunch & Learn."

You're Invited!

In Unitarian Universalism, an Installation is the congregational act of formally entering into shared ministry with a settled minister. During the ritual the minister and congregation enter into covenant, move into shared ministry with one another, and receive blessings from the wider UU community. It is a celebration of the community we will build together.

Traditionally held toward the end of the minister’s first year, the Installation is an opportunity for the wider Unitarian Universalist faith to bestow blessings on the minister and the congregation, and an opportunity for community partners and relationships to be celebrated and upheld. An installation is an important public milestone—celebrating the successful search process and the start of a shared journey forward.

Please RSVP to let us know if you will be attending on person or on Zoom: https://uucdc.breezechms.com/form/67f0b2

If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, or have any questions, please contact any member of the Transition Team: Penny Bartlett, Sharon Fichthorn, or Derrick Schweitzer.
