On this Father's Day, we extend this prayer to all fathers.โ€”Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, his foster father. Bless all fathers and grandfathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience. Give them the ability to love in a way that reflects your love. Support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation. Help us to love them in a way that would bring honor to You and them. Bless and heal all those wounded by the imperfections of their fathers and grant an eternal rest to our fathers you have called from this life to yourself, through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Bread, Wine, and a Movie: The Theology of the Eucharist

Why did Jesus choose bread and wine? Of all the things he could have chosen, why those two?
In this homily for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we explore the profound reason behind that choice โ€” bread and wine as the unique intersection of the earth's natural gifts and human labor, offered back to God and transformed into something far beyond what hands can make.
From the famous final scene of The Mission to the Israelites eating manna in the desert, this homily traces what the Eucharist actually is: not an empty ritual, but a living participation in the death and resurrection of Christ โ€” until we no longer need it, because we'll see Him face to face.

The Ultimate Difference: What Makes Christianity Unique

What actually makes Christianity different from every other religion in the world? It's not just that we believe in one God โ€” so do others. The answer is today's solemnity: the Holy Trinity.
In this homily for Trinity Sunday, we unpack what it really means that God is a communion of three persons โ€” not a distant, solitary God, but an infinite circle of love. And what that means for how we live, how we treat each other, and what salvation actually is.
Featuring St. Paul's blessing to the Corinthians, Jean-Paul Sartre's famous line ("hell is other people"), and what the cross's two beams have to do with your life at Mass every Sunday.
