This particular Vespers is one I have been waiting for since Mark signed up for it last winter.
His last Vespers was so memorable that it made me want more. The music will be Bossa Nova and Samba with Mark on his 7 string guitar, Peter Anastos, trumpet, Joshua Dargavell, trombone, Theresa McCoy, drums, Ryan Johnson, bass, and the added treat of vocalist, Vanessa Finney.
A few quotes from Mark: “I bought a 7 string guitar in Rio De Janeiro in August. The 7 string guitar gives me that extra low string, adding more bass line possibilities to my swing arrangements and samba.”
“For this concert, I have written parts for the 6 piece band by hand, (those big round #1 pencils) and they are original arrangements. They will be heard for the first time on planet earth, at the First Presbyterian Church, November 13th. So don't miss it!
This performance is special for me. I has helped me discover how much I enjoy writing/arranging jazz for horns.”

Betty Barss paintings are being held over for November.

CRAFT FAIR

First Presbyterian Church (85 S. Holly) will be having a craft fair on Dec.10, 2022. Unique handmade items, photography, books, art work and walnuts are available. Hours will be 9-4.
This is a fundraiser for warm clothing for the homeless. Donation boxes will be available. Come join us and get your Christmas Gifts.

Peter Anastos is a trumpeter, composer, and arranger. He has many original compositions to his credit. In 2005 he formed his own group in the Bay Area,
Guitarist and vocalist Paul Turnipseed developed his musical style and sensibility in his hometown of New Orleans, where he shared the stage with many of the city’s finest musicians.
Jeff Addicott grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and since arriving in Ashland, Oregon, Jeff has become one of the region’s busiest freelance musicians, working, subbing and/or collaborating with numerous groups.
Eric Pollard is a recent transplant to the Rogue Valley from Minnesota, but has quickly established himself as one of the most sought after musicians in the area. As a drummer and multi-instrumentalist, he has toured the world.
